What do you do for side cash? (1 Viewer)

ScreenlessKids.com is available. As is ScreenlessFamily

UnplugNow.com is available but it's expensive at $250 but it's got a nice ring to it

Some others:

ScreenTimeDown.com

Family-Unplugged.com

Unplugged-Kids.com

this! I like the way it sounds and its expandable down the road to parents who are too hooked on their phones as well!

nice find.

Edit: you can also add an 'A" to that if you need to modify it for social. As in "AScreenlessFamily" or "TheScreen...."

I do craps for a corprate casino night company. Usually business parties. Company puts up prizes. We deal funny money and then the players get to bid on the prizes with thier winnings. $100 cash to show plus tips. Three hours. Downside. Dealing with drunk off their ### business people. Upside. Cash and seems like the women like to rub their boobs on you. Or if they are on the opposite side of the table the view is good when they are shaking the dice. Usally free drinks for the dealers.

Not sure where to go for help with this but I'll check here first.  I'm now trying to come up with a good name for the blog I mentioned above so I can start registering on different outlets and get started on WordPress.  As I mentioned above, looking to start a "getting kids away from screens"  blog about events and activities in the area where we live and also fill in with toys, games, other products, etc.

Started jotting down words that may work in a name: kids, outside, screen, active, activities, fun, engaged, boredom, tech, mobile, ideas, games, time, power off, switch off, etc.

Early combos and ideas so far: PowerOffKids, UnplugFamily, UnplugFun (just about all versions of "Unplugged" already registered), ScreenlessKids, ScreenTimeOut.  My kids liked "ReadyPlayerFun" but I don't think that really gets at what I'm trying to convey.

Any thoughts on the above or better ideas?  Any help / input is appreciated.

Thanks!
No help on name, but as I think you are not far from the Lancaster, PA area, one site you could take a look at is Been There Done That With Kids. A lot of it is activities with kids in that area.  They followed me on Instagram after I took a trip to Lancaster with my son last year.

Work OT, or try to convince my wife to sell the 100's of purses, clothes, or shoes she hasn't touched in years that are in great condition on the garage sale groups.  I just want the space. Clutter pisses me off!

:lmao:   if only she sold them.  Once she does decide to list something, she'll list it so high that nobody will touch it. You haven't even realized you still had it let alone use it.  Just throw a dirt cheap price on it and move it out of here!

I make decent money with my day job, so it's less about needing the money vs. justifying spending it the way I want.   I tend to try and DIY stuff I'd usually pay for so I can justify spending that on other stuff...the way I see it:

-Each time I cut my own grass I "made" $70 as it'd cost that to have it cut.

-DIY Oil Change $30

-DIY Brakes $300...etc.

So not incremental more money, but savings I can spend on other things.

That's a cool way of looking at it.

I get my grass mowed. I only have so many cycles in a given week and would much rather pay a guy $25 to mow my lawn than spend my time doing it. Particularly on the weekend like this weekend where I need to cook both days for clients.

I'm the only house on my street that doesn't pay a lawn service.  I've got ~2.5 acres and a really nice John Deere mower - for me it's an hour of mindless activity outside with some music and away from the kids.  I don't mind - but I also can't make $ in my "real" job on the weekends.

That's the thing. The weekends are prime earning time for me.

I'll say this. I actually miss it. I loved the exertion and the mindlessness of it. I mowed with a push mower and had a GIANT hill in the backyard that ate up the self propelled action on my mower.

Trade Stocks.

.

I'm amazed at how much money can be made buy buying stock ... and then do nothing as they grow.

amazon has made me a small fortune in 2 years. Wish I had money to invest 10 or even 5 years ago.

Cool but you have to love or enjoy doing the pil change for it to be worth it, no?

I've changed many oils as a kid working at a gas station but doing it at home seems hardly worth it.

5 liters and an oil filter?

10-15 bucks all in? Then you have to dispose the oil and filter....all that to save 15 bucks and a car can fall on you.
