For whatever reason I've been wanting to ask this one for a while.

I'm a big cereal eater. Been eating cereal just about every morning for as long as I can remember. And for whatever reason I just can't down the cereal dust. I just leave it in the box and toss it. Seems like a waste of money but I can't end my breakfast with that trash.

Your thoughts?

When I used to eat a lot of corn flakes, I'd crush the left over dust into "crumbs" and use it to coat chicken for oven frying.

The kif of the cereal box with all of its sugary goodness? Eat it or snort it - certainly not throwing it out.

Sprinkled on Ice Cream is also good

If Im pouring kids cereal, it goes in the bowl and they have to eat it. If im pouring my own bowl it goes in the trash.

... as I pour the final bowl, I try to his that sweet spot where I get all the full-size pieces, but none of the dust.

9 times out of 10, I "overpour", and just end up eating the dust.

Back a few years ago when my kids were younger and I did the preparations of the meals, if they were getting the last bowl out of the sugary cereal box, they did not get the dust. I kept it on the side for myself.........sometimes it went in my coffee as a cane sugar substitute, but most times it just went in my mouth like those Pixy Stix thingies, which I loved as a kid.

If I was actually the one getting the last bowl, the dust went in with the rest of the cereal. Been doing this my whole life. It's a waste of money/food to throw it away. My mother told me about "all those starving kids in Africa, blah, blah, blah....", and I think it just stuck. Never throw leftovers away......always find a use for them.

Good one! If it's not worth tossing in with the final bowlful then I spread it over my vegetable garden.

I have to get all the pieces. If one is left behind (with the dust), I feel like it's lonely and sad. I can't live with that.
