I was a little suprised to see the Niners cut Bryant. He wasn't great but he was certainly the best WR they had last year. And his salary wasn't outrageous. It leads me to believe that there were problems in the locker room, or conflicts with the coaching staff. How bad do you have to be if they think Lelie is an improvement? Lelie is only a slight improvement over me, and they could time my forty with a sundial.

I didn't remember him getting suspended last year. Were the suspensions team suspensions, or were they league suspensions? This sort of explains why he hasn't been picked up. Justin Gage got a free agent deal. You would think that someone would have an interest in Bryant. He really must have a reputation of being a tool.

It was from the league. Wherever he signs, he must miss the 1st 2 games. We just saw a draft loaded with WR's so there probably wasn't much demand for his services.

I would think with the draft over and some teams probably not coming away with what they wanted that someone would be interested in him now. Offering him something like the league minimum + some incentives would seem like a cheap enough investment (assuming he'd play for that.) There are definitely teams out there that could use a player of his talent.

It is a very, very, very scary Eddie Van Halen. How the mighty have fallen. And, just to keep this on topic, I imagine Antonio Bryant may be looking like this shortly.
