What happens to Tebow? (1 Viewer)

They should trade him to the Patriots. McDaniels was the one who was in love with Tebow, makes sense to trade him there.
:goodposting: I was just about to post this, but not because of McDaniels. Bellichek was enamored with him before the draft and as I understand it there is a connection there. I could see the hoodie bringing him in and using him with his strengths. Brady certainly has nothing to worry about.

Perhaps a straight up trade of Mallett for Tebow?
:lmao:
Mallett > Tebow
Based on what?
One is a QB and the other is a novelty.
One is a QB who led his team to a playoff win and the other is some punk who slid in the draft and has never proved to be anything more than a QB3. Oh, he had a decent college career but Tebow knows nothing of that I guess. Say what you will but talent doesnt talk, success does.

Tebow didn't lead his team to anything. He was a bystander on an 8-8 team that fluked its way into the playoffs and got a lucky win against a hobbled opponent. His own coaches liked him so much that they went out and brought in another QB. Kinda says it all.

Tebow is a joke. Mallett is a much more talented passer.

So was Ryan Leaf, but you want someone who wins. How many games has Mallet won in the NFL? How many playoff games? Keep making excuses. They had a decent QB as a starter and they went 1-4, then Tebow comes in and they start winning and guess what...that's all that matters! I'd take Tebow and the playoffs any day over a "talented" QB who doesn't make the playoffs. Excuses or not, he wins. You can't argue that.

:goodposting: What an idiotic statement. A guy that in what was basically his rookie season leading a mediocre team to a div title and a HUGE playoff win is not as good as some 3rd rd chump qb thats never stepped on a pro field. Wow.

It is hard for Mallett to win games when he doesn't play games. Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin didn't win any games last year. That doesn't say anything about their ability to do so, but rather about their lack of opportunity. Tebow won a few games, but the sample size was small and it's hard to determine if Denver won those games because of him or in spite of him. I tend towards the latter whereas you clearly believe it's the former.

I think the fact that Tebow's own coaches (the people who, theoretically, possess the most intimate knowledge of his performance and ability) have essentially given him a vote of no confidence by taking a huge financial risk on a quarterback who didn't play a snap last year. To me, Tebow is a shoddy QB whose "success" last season was a fortunate confluence of circumstance and variance. He played relatively few good teams and those that he did face generally didn't give him their best games. He played in a weak division where no team had more than 8 wins. I could go on and on about why he looks like a fluke, but there's no need. His own coaches have vindicated his critics by relegating him to the bench. That doesn't often happen to "proven winners" or "franchise QBs" barring extreme circumstances. One could argue that Manning's availability is an extreme circumstance, but you didn't see the Falcons or Steelers making a play for him (because they're satisfied with their QB options, which Denver apparently was not).

Do you know for sure they didn't make a play for him? 12 teams contacted about Manning, so is that saying that all 12 teams are giving their teams QBs a vote of no confidence? Or is Manning just a once in a lifetime deal? I know Elway wasn't a fan because Tebow wasnt the typical QB, but it must say something about Tebow that the only way to get him from the starting job was to bring in a future HOF QB.

If only 12 teams inquired about him then that means 20 teams did not. If Denver felt that they had an above average QB on their roster then I don't think they would've been among the minority of teams who felt compelled to look at Peyton. One of the common traits shared by the teams strongly linked to Manning is uncertainty at QB. SF, Miami, Tennessee, Denver. None of those teams really have an obvious franchise QB on the roster.

All it says is that they prefer Peyton and his bum neck to Tebow. It says nothing about where they rank Tebow in the overall hierarchy of NFL QBs. I think the tea leaves suggest that they probably don't rate him too highly though, as I don't think they would've taken the risk on Manning if they truly believed they could win consistently with Tebow.

Tebow is like the next generation of Trent Dilfer. Um, without the winning the Super Bowl thing. And Manning is the next generation of Elvis Grbac. Um, except with the whole winning the Super Bowl thing.
