I'm thinking of joining this online league, but I'm not sure what a "satellite league" is.

don't know about payday, but for WCOFF (high stakes league), satellite leagues were created where the grand prize was a free entrance to the main event the next year.

You would have to go to Payday and see if there is any indication of what THEY meanAs joffer said, the name was "borrowed" from the poker world, where "satellite tournaments" would reward the winner with an entry into a more expensive league.

For FF, both WCOFF and NFFC run "true" satellite leagues where the winner would get a free entry to the following year's event, but now loosley call al their online, preseason leagues "satellite" leagues.

Well, implicit in my question (I thought) is the fact that I've been there and cannot find a good definition within the context of that website. Hence my question on this forum. There are payouts for this league, so the first reply doesn't appear to be the correct answer.
