What is going on with Jon Bon Jovi's voice? (1 Viewer)

First, that is super sad. I think maybe he’s had a stroke or some sort of brain injury. Pitch is off, rhythm is off. This isn’t a case of his voice being shot. It’s a neurological issue.

Someone mentioned his hair still looking good. Not so sure about that in this video. He looks like someone’s elderly lesbian aunt.

I think he opened that show like that because it was right after the lip-sync'd version of that song a few nights prior. He knew he'd be recorded up close in the crowd if he did it that way and it would show he was actually singing it. Struggling with vocals is one thing but being caught lip-syncing could be a deathblow.
Maybe, maybe not. Roger Waters has been mostly lip synching for years, and no one seems to care.  I suspect most people going to a Bon Jovi concert nowadays want to relive their youth and won't care as long as they can have a few beers while enjoying the nostalgia.

I think he is on record specifically saying he would never do that though.

I think so, too.  It doesn't even seem like he can talk on rhythm.

I saw The Wallflowers play at the Stone Pony last November and Jon Bon Jovi came out for the encore to sing “I Fought the Law” with Jakob Dylan and he sounded good that night - but it was only one song.

I wonder if he is still touring because he doesn't want his roadies, etc, to lose their jobs.  It seems he was always considerate of that sort of thing.

Think he left a few years ago. Classic in-fighting from what I read.
Was fired. Alcohol abuse.

Jon is finished. That is incredibly embarrassing.

One of the great frontmen from the 80’s. A shell of himself. Seriously. And the ticket prices for this crap are obscene.

Utter garbage.

I mean....the audience for this, did they have a bad time? I'm sure most left happy. They got to shout along to Livin on a Prayer, squeeze into the old acid wash.....I don't really know how much they cared.

The Def Leppard-Motley Crue-Poison-Joan Jett stadium tour that has been put off for 2 years is the next disappointment coming up. Vince Neil may very well explode on stage at some point. If anyone is dumb enough to pay to see this dreck, well it's on you.

Upper Deck - $101

Lower bowl - $340

Lower bowl, field level - $430

Floor level - $449-$770

Wow,  I would expect to be able to see them free separately at state and county fairs.  Crazy

ETA: And this isn't an in-and-of-itself rip on aging artists still touring.  I saw Heart at a 4th of July community festival 10 or so years ago and they were awesome.  A really really good concert.

The Motley Crue gig has been a money grab since inception. The last tour they did was terrible, he hasn't gotten better since. I get a kick out of these videos.

This. Why dont they lip sync? It would be a whole lot better.

That does more harm than good. Just brutal and for me, hard to watch. Love the Crue growing up.

Vince Neil will suck, but both Joe Elliot and Bret Michaels have been touring and recording. They're going to be fine.

He sounds pretty good here. A memory Derek/Decker will never forget.

They had enough White Claws to make them not really pay attention to what was actually happening onstage.
