What is up with Marques Colston? (1 Viewer)

I have been patient with him thus far since he was getting frequent targets early and the team started slowly. However since the bye week the team has played much better and his targets and production are down! Is his back bothering him that much? Has he been a decoy? Is he not getting open?

Any homers with any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks.

From Rotoworld:

Marques Colston caught three passes for 45 yards in Week 7 against the Falcons.

Impact: Colston hasn't been able to get open deep, so he turned a short slant into a 32-yard gain by breaking a tackle and shoving defenders out of his way as he moved down field. Colston had a potential long catch broken up early and missed on a goal-line target late.

let me remind folks that the NO offense hasn't really clicked all season. Two games - wins in both cases - where they scored more than 20 pts. They're still figuring out what they want to do, I think. Payton has been very vanilla, by his admission, in the second half of those games. I think as the divisional picture tightens up, the Saints offense will pick up. He's a terrific buy low candidate.

I can't always tell from the TV coverage of their road games, but at each of the Saint home games this year, there have been several instances where I've been surprised that Colston has not been on the field. I'm guessing that his back is affecting him more than has been made known, and that Payton is limiting his snaps.
