I mean we know the outcome: he was a major child molester. I personally don’t have any interest in hearing the dirty details about it.
That's not really what the documentary is about.  It's more about grooming of kids and their families.  It bears an eerie similarity to the R Kelly case.

Like I said in another post, i have the opposite position.  After hours of listening to his music, joking about his weirdness, etc... in a way i feel like i owe it to these people to hear their story.

Sure, it is hard to listen to, but it's not any different for me than watching a doc on mass murders, concentration camps, or any other really difficult subject matter.

Mass murder docs aren’t really my thing either. I often wonder what the families of these murder victims feel about all these podcasts going through all the details with snark and humor. I don’t think I would appreciate them if the topic was my wife or sister.

Like most musicians, there seems to be a before and an after with Thriller being the demarcation point.

up to and including Thriller: excellent

post Thriller: weirdo

MJ's daughter (Paris Jackson) hospitalized over the weekend after trying to commit suicide after watching this documentary.  Eesh, this dude messed up some lives.

So his eldest kid was nicknamed "Prince", though actually named Michael Joseph Jackson Jr.  - but then he actually named his second son Prince, but nicknamed him "Blanket"?  And how does that second son have a "II" (as in, the second) after his name?

If what the two guys said is true, and I found them credible, it was calculating of Michael Jackson to pave his path to the boys by grooming the boys and their parents.  As Safechuck said, "It's all a big seduction."

From Wikipedia.

Foreman has 12 children, five sons and seven daughters. His five sons are George Jr., George III ("Monk"), George IV ("Big Wheel"), George V ("Red"), and George VI ("Little Joey").
You can name your kids just about anything.  We have an entire topic here for this.

This is the part I don't understand.  (Don't get me worng - Michael was a monster - created by his parents)  But some of the situations the parents left these kids (7 years old!!!) in were just head scratching.

Bad was a massive success, but very few of the songs from that album have aged well for me, and most of them I merely liked at the time, and I likely wouldn't have sought most of them out on their own even back then, but they were on the radio and MTV non-stop, so they were impossible to avoid.

His innovation and artistry as a dancer will live as long as his music. His legacy lives on in choreography. The rest is a damn shame.

Had good music, but was a very flawed individual.  Have no problem liking his music, but not sure i can agree on anything other than that.

I love Marvin Gaye’s music.  He too was a personal disgrace.  It takes the shine off of all that he accomplished, but the music stands on its own foundation.

Maybe I'm not up to speed on the outrage and I get that its tricky.

Was talking with someone the other day and they felt like they were supposed to feel bad about liking Kevin Spacey in House of Cards. I don't get it.

That was phenomenal cinema. The acting, the writing, the subject. All of it great. He's also allegedly a child molester and committed sexual harrassment/assault multiple times.

I'm not building a statue of the guy but I can also appreciate the art. I also know it's a delicate subject. Where does one draw the line? I don't know the answer to that but I also don't feel bad for saying The Usual Suspects is a great movie and a big reason for that is Kevin Spacey's acting.

I just don't get why someone can't admire an acting performance just because it's Spacey.  I really like John Wayne movies, but he was an ####### in many ways.  The two things can exist together.

Folks have an issue with supporting a pedos livelihood. If I went to a restaurant frequently because the food was great, I would stop going if I found out the owner diddled kids. I realize Jackson is dead, but I think it kinda falls into that category.  Spacey surely does. I also recognize that this is a slippery slope in terms of where you draw the line on the good person spectrum.

What Spacey did was horrible. I'll never watch House of Cards, American Beauty, or K-Pax ever again.

But I'll never ever ever stop watching The Usual Suspects. FOH.
