What it's like to be cut on Roster Cutdown Day (1 Viewer)

I don't know if you've read any of Ryan Riddle's stuff at Bleacher Report, but as an ex player he brings a tremendous knowledge and personal experience to his writing.

Since it's time for final cuts, Riddle shared with us memories of his own cut down day -I thought you guys might enjoy it.

As a guy who struggled to be a screenwriter (failed) and fought my way into a paid full time writing gig, I really felt the piece.

Riddle's stuff is always good, so check him out.

Go Bears. Thanks for the link.

Great (and heartbreaking) article. I guess I always assumed that on the big cut day, the head coach pulled aside the players, one at a time, to let them go gently. I assumed that they got a pat on the back, were told that they still have a future in the NFL, etc.

Maybe that is the case with some teams, but at least with the Raiders in this specific situation, it just sounds needlessly harsh. I guess that's the nature of the beast though.
