What... Now Debbie Reynolds Too?!? (1 Viewer)

Carrie Fisher on her mom, from an NPR interview I heard about a month ago:

"She's an immensely powerful woman, and I just admire my mother very much. She also annoys me sometimes when she's mad at the nurses, but she's an extraordinary woman. Extraordinary. There's very few women from her generation who worked like that, who just kept a career going all her life, and raised children, and had horrible relationships, and lost all her money, and got it back again. I mean, she's had an amazing life, and she's someone to admire."

The ultimate showbiz lady. Miss Reynolds played the showroom @ my homebase casino and it also happened that a HS chum of hers was a poker dealer there, so we saw a lot of her. She lived to make everyone enjoy her stardom as much as she did. She simply had no off-position on her switch..............til now. RIP -

About 20 years ago, she did a fund-raiser for a hospital I worked at. She must've been about 64 and looked great.  She was still at the top of her performing game. She was genuinely funny and was a big draw.

Not unusual to see two relatives die so close like that. Happened in my family many years ago ... we lost my aunt to cancer one day, then my grandmother (who had heart issues) the next.

RIP.

I lost FIL and his sister within a week. That killed my wife mentally. My MIL and HER brother were next a year later, and then FIL's dad died.  They were a great family that I knew since I was a kid.

Of course all of my dirtbag relatives are alive and kicking.

If this was the 70's I would go on tour with the Dead to escape.  R.I.P. 2016

She learned to dance 6 weeks before that picture.
And was likely worked to the bone by Kelly who was a taskmaster. He was difficult as hell with professional dancers, I can't even imagine how rough it must have been on Reynolds. In the end, it produced a near perfect film. She will live forever through it.
