I play in a 12 team keeper league where we keep 3 players....here is the way it works: each team franchises 2 players that can't be taken by any other team....one of the franchise players you keep- you lose a pick 1 round higher than he was drafted last year ie: if you drafted TJ Housh last year in the 4th round and wanted to franchise him...he gets slotted in your pick in the 3rd round, so in essence you don't have a 3rd round pick.....
the 2nd Franchise player you pick, you lose a pick 1 round lower than he was drafted last year....ie: you drafted Vernon Davis in the 7th round last yr and want to Franchise him....he gets slotted in your pick in the 8th round, so in essence you don't have an 8th round pick...
Now the Transition player.......each team my choose a 3rd player that they designate as their transition player.....the key to this is that like the NFL and restricted Free Agents.....Transition players can be taken by another team...let me explain....For instance....last year you drafted Tory Holt in the 2nd round last year and this year you decide to Transition the player......he gets temporarily slotted into your pick in the 2nd round this year....once the draft starts, another team may draft him up until your slot comes up in the 2nd round.....
For example, using Tory Holt I have the 5th pick in the 2nd round...therefore Holt gets slotted in that pick...once the draft starts.....let's say that with the 9th pick in the 1st round a team takes Holt....I get compensation for that player...the compensation is as follows...I get the other teams next possible draft pick, which would be the 4th pick in the 2nd round, I would also get my own pick back in the 2nd round, and I would also get the other teams 10th round pick.....When the draft starts and my pick in the 8th slot comes along and I fear that someone may steal Holt...I can draft him with my pick in the 1st round, I then get my 2nd round pick back and he can't be stolen by another team.....Franchise players can only be stolen by another team through the end of the 5th round.....if you transitioned a player with a 12th round pick and no one takes your player by the end of the 5th round, then he is yours to keep and is slotted in the round you drafted him the year before....
I know it sounds detailed, but it is a lot of fun....
Some league point scoring:
6Pt for all TDs. (including QB)
3 pt bonus for TD over 40 yds
PPR League
rushing/recieving: 1 pt/10 yds
passing 2 pts/50yds
Lineup
1QB
2RB
3WR
1TE
K
D/ST
Here are my possible keepers....with round drafted in parenthesis
Bulger 6
Westbrook 3
Portis 12
Maroney 7
Driver 2
Harrison 1
Housh 4
Williams 2
I was thinking of keeping Westbrook and dropping him to the 4th round.....Keeping Maroney and moving him up to the 6th round and Transitioning Harrison in the 1st round....
I have the 12 pick (won last year)...have 2 4th and 2 5th round picks (trades last year)...
1) Who would you keep
2) who would you take with 1st pick in 2nd round( assuming I kand Harrison with pick 12)
Thanks for all your help!!!
