was she the lead?... freaking loved looking at her. not so much the acting... but gorgeous.

yeah- for me the scope of it was great... including sets, cg, costumes. and the two japanese actors in particular were incredible.
Yes.  Not classically beautiful exactly (more exotic) but gorgeous and riveting.  Maybe you remember her as Kira in Riddick.  She can act; she was definitely told to play it low-key.  But when she was, uh, not herself exactly when interacting with the Trade Minister in S2, and when she was angry in the S2 finale, that’s where the range showed up.  She is outstanding.

If you liked all the stuff you mentioned then I must conclude that you are being contrary. ;)

contrariwise.

my hyperbole kicks into overdrive when I see hyperbole.

Holy crap the Defiant Ones was awesome.  While Dre seemed like mainly a pretty good guy, Jimmy Lovine is the freaking man.  To be involved with all those huge acts from the 70's to today and to be in tune with the potential of streaming and getting Dre to endorse/help develop Beats while figuring out how to best market them?

That guy rules.

To me, the three leads are the weakest part of the show. But most of the other characters and the concept is keeping me all-in.

Home sick and ran through all seven episodes of Big Little Lies.  Very enjoyable character study of a show with some great actors.  The story was a bit hokey but it provided enough interesting plot developments and twists to keep me watching and looking forward to the next episode.

I'd rate it 3.75/5
I don't know why I like this show, but I do. The acting is very good. I'm only through Ep 3 and I'm watching without my wife prompting. :bag:

The show could also have been titled, "First World Problems: White Lady Edition".

It was great how the show set up them gravitating toward each other as they moved out of the Death Row / Suge Knight orbit.

Jimmy being presented as a big deal on American Idol makes a lot more sense to me now than it did back then.

we have HBO go but can't find it anywhere. we'll get ads for it, but can't find it listed. very strange.

In an interview on Howard Stern he mentioned that he didn't want to do American Idol but just did it to sell headphones.

Think you misspelled “screwed someone out of the deal”. Dre and Lovine didn’t develop anything.

I'm sure all of our binge lists are already too long but the Masterpiece Mystery series just concluded on PBS, Unforgotten (a cold case series, 2 3-ep arcs), may be the best crime series i've ever seen. The implications of the years of lies & secrets surrounding a 40yo, then a 25yo murder had me hating heroes, loving villains and wondering why i can't write that well. wikkid say check it -

Recently watched The Handmaid's Tale S1 and thought it was really damn good.  One of the best shows I have watched in the past few years.

Binge watching Breaking Bad on Netflix. Never caught it on the original run. It definitely lives up to the hype. Haven’t seen a drama as good since Sopranos.

Trust on FX. Up to ep8, not bad but like the OJ deal they take a few liberties filling in the blanks when it comes to the Getty family and the small time Italian mobsters that kidnap the grandson. Donald Sutherland nails the role of the old skinflint billionaire.

If you want to know what new shows NOT to watch, just ask me. Seems lately most of the shows I think could be interesting and start watching get a very short life..

Designated Survivor and The Crossing are just the recent two to get jinxed by me watching them

Have been watching 'Alias' (Jennifer Garner) on CBS all access or Prime. Not sure which one. Hmm. Half way through season 2. Watched it back in the day but don't remember much about the episodes except I liked it.

On to S3 of Parks and Rec.

For whatever reason 0 others shows out there seem to hold my interest or attention for more than a few episodes.

Started "Lost" with my kids (14 and 12) and they're big fans.  We started a few weeks ago and are already 54 episodes in, probably averaging about 2+ episodes a night just about every night.  Can't wait to see what they think of the season 3 finale "Through the Looking Glass", one of my favorite TV episodes ever.

We've watched Criminal Minds from the beginning. Had a good run.

Now we're binge watching Law and Order: SVU

Not sure why I never tuned into this before but it's a good show.  Lots of years to catch up on.

If you're looking for shows to watch and haven't seen New Amsterdam, I highly recommend it.  Really good show to catch up on.
