My memory is awful lately  (concussions+A.D.D.) but with the talk of the old days here I'm trying to remember the good times.  I remember Dancing Bones at hedonism and the camp hookup girl but those are not so far back. I remember the Curly Board Jihad and that was fun.  What are some old threads you liked that the memories would make me smile.  Tia.

 
I'll never forget the first smack talk finals thread where @fatguyinalittlecoat argued that Jesus was not a celebrity. I don't remember who the smackdownee was, but man, what a great thread.

I remember Ferris beating me with personal attacks rather than arguing the question. I think that was the last year of smackdowns too. Of course, I argued for a bad beer and lost the year before. Guess I suck at smackdowns.

 
I think I found this site when I was searching for reviews on digital cameras and was lead to a thread here...but the thread I recall that had everything that embodies the FFA.

Yeah, I slept through 9/11 as I got home from work at 8am.  My wife woke me up at 3pm when she got home from school, and I jumped on here before even putting the TV on.  I didn't believe her but then I saw it here. I dove right in and read it all.

 Good call on that one.  R.I.P.

I had some in depth debates about rooster sizes in the shark pool which made for some good threads in here.

Not really a classic, but the first thread that got me hooked here was one where somebody (maybe @Maurile Tremblay) mentioned an obscure book called "Strange But True Sports Stories" and it turned out that like a dozen of us were obsessed with that book when we were kids and knew it pretty much cover to cover. 

 
The whole mojo/emom thing was captivating and gave a window into what the internet would become.  I'm not sure how much of the backstory on that was real, but ### #### that was a wild event in the young internet.

Remember the book and the thread.  Thought my cousin and I owned the only two copies of it that ever sold until that thread broke out.  

Don't recall who brought it up, but Maurile is a really good guess.

 
Elvis Presley RIP. I remember people being in shock, a lot of tears. It was pre-internet so there was a lot of rumor and confusion in the thread

Hardest I ever laughed from FFA was the Russian Bride Draft.  And I wasn't even one of the drafters.  The level of commitment from the owners describing and hyping their picks was astonishing.  Also had side business like ***la advertising his subscription service to drafters, offering bulk discounts on future products in case the Bride Draft took us around the world.

shuke's story about writing up a Russian Bride Draft cheat sheet at work, printing it out at the office, having a co-worker see it peel off the printer, and shuke having to explain to the person like what notes like "MILF/Dominatrix type" meant had me in pain from laughter.

 
Not the first, but the most underrated thread in FFA history without a doubt is the LumberJACKS fans thread.  The shtick in that one was weird, intricate, mean, and hysterically funny.  

 
The thread informing FFA that the Mansion sportsbook was offering risk-free action on the NFL season opener.  If you bet $1100 on the Steelers to cover they would pay out $1000, and if they didn't cover they would leave the $1100 in your account for future bets.  As a group we took them for a big stack of racks.

I was up against him in one of the rounds and was traveling for work at the time so I basically forfeited.  I had to argue against Stacy Keiber and her 20 ft long legs not being the hottest woman in sports.  Not an easy task under the best of circumstances.

 
I found the site around 2000, my first year doing FF, and wandered into the FFA soon after. The first thread I remember looking forward to was the Splinter Cell walk through thread. A bunch of people going through the game at about the same time. I kinda think it was a @Mad Cow thread or he was the first to finish and helped getting people through. I could be wrong.

I remember that one.  Everyone loves her back then.  I wasn't a big fan myself.

I'm on page four of colon blow right now.  I miss threads like that now.  

This thread made me remember how I also got in a bit of trouble at work over the Russian Bride draft.  I was hyperventilating while showing some coworkers and the boss almost saw it.  I'm pretty sure I printed some of it.  I wonder if I still have it on my old computer in the basement.....

Yeah that thread was just insane.  Not many of us got it but those who did just killed it.  :hifive:

Also the Big Daddy Kane meeting a chick on Craigslist and meeting her behind a CVS.  Something like, "Is 180 pounds too fat for a girl 5'2""
