When political correctness collides (1 Viewer)

In an effort to include Chinese-Americans, the NBA planned on putting out Chinese New Year t-shirts that had "The Year of the Monkey" on them. Black people took offense to the term "monkey" during Black History Month.

Why are the Chinese so racially insensitive?

By "black people" you mean "DeMarcus Cousins"?

Yes. He was the only one. No one else. Not even the other guy mentioned in the article. Just him. Him alone. I want to make sure I make this clear: By "black people" I solely meant Cousins. Not one other black person. Neither in this country or any other. Just Cousins.

Marques Johnson a/k/a Olskool, also.

Cousins criticized the giveaway of Year of the Monkey T-shirts. Bucks TV analyst and former player Marques Johnson described the situation on Facebook.

"I walk into the building and DeMarcus Cousins calls me over to an animated discussion he's having with Kings operations people," he wrote. "He ask me, 'Olskool, what you think about this T Shirt? Told him a little insensitive on 1st day of Black History Month'. They pulled the shirts..."

Indeed.

It was also just the Kings who had these particular shirts I believe. I think the NBA just directs the teams to do something to recognize Chinese New Year in an effort to maintain/increase their popularity in China, where the league is already massively popular. That particular effort is all about marketing, not political correctness.

Let's all try to picture the man who says

"I'm just talking about something going on between Chinese and Blacks."

Hi, I'm here for the bitter white racist meetup?
Yes. An Arab bringing up a conflict between Chinese and Blacks SCREEEEEAAAAAMS white racism. Nailed it, dude. Nailed it.
The conflict here was between an NBA marketing scheme and a franchise superstar (and apparently an ally in the media who agreed with him). I think you both swung and missed on this one.
Yes. I swung and missed. Again, I hate to have to say this, but you're an idiot. I blame you for forcing me into saying things like this. I don't want to. But I feel like you want me to say it sometimes. No one can be as dumb as you but think he is so incredibly smart. No one. Seriously.

But you're right. I swung and missed. This whole thing isn't absurd. You are correct. Only two people were offended in the whole world. Good job. Keep up the incredible work.

Arabs were white until a few decades ago.
Thanks a lot, Obama! :hot:
Hold on. When did we start saying "white" racism? I thought that was implied unless specifically stated otherwise. And just FYI, I'm pretty sure typing "screams" like you did is now sexist. Jerk.
