Whence EJ Henderson? (1 Viewer)

Yesterday vs. the Bears, EJ had 1 defensive assist and 1 special teams tackle. He was virtually non-existant in that game.

Fortunately, I read over the FBG's subscriber material which, to my amazement, suggested starting Crowder over him which I ended up doing as my 4th LB. Crowder had a good game.

What did you guys spot about this matchup vs. Chicago that led you to believe he'd not be a solid play?

Yes, I am I eager for information about this putz. I too benched him (for BSimmons), but I have week 6 bye issues. I've been waiting for one of them to say "cut me cut me" and EJ is begging for his release.

Glad I got this game on the DVR. I was originally fussy because I wanted to take a hard look at AJ Hawk. Checking out EJ and the Minnesota DL is high on my to-do list today. The last two games are painting a very different picture than MNF in week one.

I cut EJ for Demarrio Williams this past week and it turned out to be a very good decision. If you have room, I would snatch up D. Williams in a second. I doubt Hartwell comes back soon and D. Williams plays on every down.

:goodposting: And so far unanswered - Jene, Chaos, anyone?

I wouldn't have started Crowder over him, that's for sure. If you went by the cheatsheets/projections -- that was Norton's call. My eyes-on, post-mortem thoughts about Henderson were posted here.

I had no insights. I just preferred Simmons, fortunately. In one redraft, I have made the decision to let EJ go. It wasn't easy. I could regret it. It was based on bye issues and performance.

Not much wrong with EJ HendersonEJ was around the ball all day long. If I were spotting this game, his stat line would've read 2-5-0 with a pass defended. He also put solid pressure on the quarterback twice but Grossman threw the ball away before he was really threatened with a sack. Henderson was more likely to cover the middle zone when Harris blitzed. He was active downfield in coverage and should have had an interception when a pass hit him squarely in the numbers -- he wasn't credited with a PD on the play. The concern here needs to be the home spotter crew here IMO. Without seeing the week two game, the Viking crew has awarded a total of 12 assists (6 in each game) to the home team. For now, Napoleon Harris is kept so clean of blockers by the DT crew that he's going to hit most guys first. Stretching it here, but add the lack of assist stats to the Ray Charles-like performance of the spotters in this game and Henderson may be a questionable play at home.
So far the trend is born out. In my league, these are his points, by week:1- @Was, 6.5

2- vs. Car, 5.0

3- vs. Chi, 1.5

4- @Buf, 9.0

Averages:

Away- 7.75

Home- 3.75

His best home score is worse than his worst away score.

It's early and this is a small sample size, but this is something to continue to follow. I've benched him this weekend for his home game and will be watching intently.

EJ had a monster IDP game vs. the Lions, scoring 15 points, however a closer look reveals (at least potentially) that he continues to score low at home in the "consistent" categories, namely tackles and assists. For the game, he was only credited with 3 tackles, and 1 pass defended. The remaining 11 points (in my league) came from the INT and the TD.

Another monster game, this time "legit" . . . and of course this time on the road once again. Yeah, he had an interception, but what's more interesting is that he had 9 solo's and a pass defensed. The pattern is intact.

I'm already a believer - I pulled Cato June from the lineup and replaced him today with Henderson.
