Where did Pinner come from? (1 Viewer)

Have Chester in both big $ locals, ergo, I've been following the games on NFL.com, and definitely watched anytime the Vikes were on here in NYC.
Pinner was Chester's primary backup, until the Bears game. Moore is not considered Chester's backup, his role was/is primarily 3rd downs, and perhaps a series per game.
When Chester got poked in the eye during the Monday night debacle vs. the Pats, it was Pinner who came in. When Chester was nicked during the 49er game ... again, it was Pinner.
This lead me to roster Pinner on both FF teams. When I got word of Fason getting the start, I saw no need to nab him, as I had Betts and THenry to fill in. I just didn't trust that Fason was going to be the primary ball carrier yesterday. Wasn't worth the roster move/cash.
So, Pinner did not come out of obscurity ... it was Fason vs. Chicago who did.

Nice that it worked out for you. But do you realize it didn't work out for a helluva lotta people who started Fason?Why the heck was that information NEVER mentioned all of last week? I read up on that situation a lot, all sorts of sites (including this one) & threads pimping Fason. Myself and many others started Fason only to get screwwwwed in the playoff matchup.
It didn't work out for me ... I left Pinner on the bench, due to the news that it would be Fason. So, in a sense, I got screwed as well. Betts and Travis both had excellent outings, and I will win the playoff game, but Pinner outscored both of them by 10-15 points... and I would've loved to have that cushion as I was facing the LT2 owner ...

I wouldn't get too geeked on Pinner.Dude has averaged 3.3 YPC during his 4 year career.

If you were so "on" to Pinner, why did you not comment once in the Fason thread about Fason replacing him at #2?Seems alot of people can be right after the fact.

I benched Tater for Fason, lost by 1/2 of a point. If you bothered to read both my posts in this thread, I also said I had Pinner rostered in 2 leagues but did not start him, because all indications were that it WAS Fason.I was simply trying to point out in my OP that Pinner had been Chet's primary backup all season. However, when Childress declares that Fason would get the nod, so be it. Hell, I wish I did start Pinner ... so, I was not right "after the fact" ... I was hoodwinked with the Fason talk just like everyone else.

I did not comment much on Fason last week but did on one poll question. I actually thought Mewelde Moore would steal a lot of the production some people were predicting for Fason so I did not pick up on Pinner. I did think though that starting Fason an expecting huge numbers from him was a very risky move. Fason has never had a huge day in the NFL so anyone who started him should have understood that was a huge risk.
Seriously I've been touting Pinner for years. Hes never really been given a ton of chances but whenever he has been given a chance to start and get a good number of carries he has produced. In Detroit, he outclassed KJ nearly every day in practice but the pressure to play the first rounder won out. If Pinner just gets a chance, he'll EASILY be a top 10 FF RB next year barring injury.

What a stupid comment! First, did you go to the Lions practices last year and watch him outplay KJ every day. On game day KJ was hurt, misused, and was not motivated to play for Mooch. Bryson did better than Pinner. Pinner showed some signs of being good, but to say he outplayed KJ every day is a crazy, unfounded comment. Good one!

I did indeed attend quite a few(probably around 20) Lion's practices last year including a few that were closed to the general public. My family is close personal friends with Coach Adam Gase who has been with the Lions for the past 4 years and now holds the position of "Offensive Quality Control Coach." Because of this I've had the opportunity to have a lot of insight into their team. Last year I even posted an interview with Kevin Jones on these boards(might have been lost when they deleted a ton of old posts...I'm not sure). EVERYONE whom I have asked has give A TON of praise for Pinner. And when you watch him practice and play you can see why. This guy will be a star...I'm as certain of that as I am about any other player in the league.What a stupid comment!
