Yeah, I'm sure Alaska would be a huge culture shock to all those players coming from Scandinavian countries, russia and other former soviet countries, and so on.I'm thinking these games could sell out every night. I guess the only problem would be players not wanting to live in Alaska.I changed my mind. Almost half of the states population is in the Anchorage area. You're correct.Given the draw of Ice Dogs and UAF games, I would disagree with Fairbanks. Anchorage should do well I think. Or at least better than Florida. You're close. Fairbanks is the answer. No schtick -- even with a metro area about the size of Halifax's (~400K), I bet Anchorage would support a team.I still say Alaska. That whole state is being neglected.Let's get a team in the Dakotas. Can't be worse than Miami, Phoenix, or Vegas.
But an retractable roof arena would be so awesome in the NHL.
Alaska actually has a big advantage as not only does it not have any state income tax, but also pays it's citizens.
