Where does Chad end up (1 Viewer)

First off I think he'll be traded and after going through all the teams I see 2 strong possibilities

1)Seattle- no one is really mentioning this but their wr's are very weak and they'll be saving alot of $$ when they cut Alexander. This is Holgrem's last year and you can't really think Nate Burleson is going to be his #1 reciever....can you?

2)Washington- you know Dan Snyder will get involved if talks are serious. He has to many draft picks to do with and he lacking a #1 wr in a new offense designed to highlight the wr position. They always find money and Chad would fit in great with that team.....ateast for a year or two.

I do think he gets traded however I do think he is prepared to sit out as well if he doesn't get his wish (spoiled).

I really think Seattle is a strong sleeper with Cinncy. They have a late first that could be dangled and a desire to send Holgrem out a winner. They definetly have the need as posted earlier.

Give me your thoughts on where you think he ends up...if at all.

Eagles. And when that happens McNabbs stock goes way up, CJ stock goes up a little, Palmers hits the floor and so does TJs.

Minnesota has a couple picks, some money left and they need CJ, but CJ wont be happy there either. He should be careful for what he's asking for.

"That's it?"

How about to the Jets for Robertson? I know some are predicting the Jets grab a 1st day receiver and they are trying to move Roberston anyways...plus this Jets team has no "star" and in NY, a little star power never hurt.

He knocked on the face of the franchise. He has to go. I dont even care where.

Pac-man is about the dumbest thing I ever heard. The Bengals are cleaning out losers, not acquiring them. Look at PFT's turd standings last year and this, the Bengals get the rap, but they arent the league leading troublemaker they are made out to be.

Chad Johnson is done as a Bengal. Done. This has been painful on all fronts to witness. But the Bengals need to get over their denial, and get rid of this guy already.

Buffalo, TN, Denver, Jacksonville, take your pick. Those teams could all give up a 1st for 85 and be far better for it. Miami could give up their 2nd and maybe a later pick, say a 7th, and cartwheel to the moon. 85 would work in alot of places. He's just not working in Cinci again. Ever.

Well, Denver is out of the equation... they just signed Jackson for one year... not saying he's the end all but i think its safe to assume the broncos won't be pursuing another WR this season.

Any chance the Niners would consider Johnson? It seems like they could use a go-to wide receiver with Martz's offense, as I can't imagine a WR corps consisting of Battle, Lelie, and Bruce will be all that effective. They currently have about 12.5 million in cap space and no early draft picks.

Maybe the Niners give Jason Hill a shot to make some plays, also they signed Bryant Johnson. But in the case of Ocho... Philly, Sea, or Miami even seem like decent landing spots. If I thought he could exist with another big name (TO)... then maybe Dallas. Just do not see that working out too well...

I would love to see Cincy ship him someplace with a terrible QB situation, like Minnesota. Let's see how many end zone opportunities he gets with T. Jackson throwing the ball. Mike Brown will try to get him as far away as possible - someplace NFC. Washington would make a lot of sense and his fantasy value would take a significant hit.

I have said it in another Chad Johnson thread, but with Drew Rosenhaus as his agent, I don't think there is any way the Eagles make a play for him. Can you imagine the phone call: "Um Drew, so about that troubled WR you represent who is making all sorts of waves trying to get out of his current situation..."

Washington makes the most sense to me due to the Dan Snyder factor.

It won't happen, but I'd like to see him exchanged w/ Detroit's Roy Williams (who will be gone from there soon anyway). It's not the worst place to play WR, but Chad sure won't be winning that playoff game soon.

Won't happen as I thought the Bengals doctors already killed a deal for Robertson. Plus, CJ is much more valuable then RObertson -- who will be cut if he isn't traded.

CJ will play every game as a Bengal in 2008.Write it down and underline it.
I've heard it's very prohibitive - from a cap standpoint - if he goes elsewhere this year. Just based no that I figure he's stuck with the Bengals (and vice versa) this year.

Eagles for Lito and a 3rd
This is the deal that would make the most sense. While CJ is a headache and the TO deal blew up in year 2, the Eagles window is getting smaller by the day. The Eagles are smart enough to realize that with all the BS TO brought, he helped their team when on the field. CJ can do similar things. And, CJ can likely do them faster then any of the WRs in this years draft. I don't think the Eagles have the time for a drafted WR to grow into the spot by year 3.Lito is as good as gone. So that part makes sense. I could see haggling over the extra pick with the Eagles arguing that they are equal value players (given the CJ baggage); but if that is the case, the Bengals will not trade.I also think NO may be interested in swapping picks in the 1st and picking up Lito, with Philly moving up to get an OL.

I think it is an $8 million cap hit if traded before June 1, but only $3 million this year ($5 million next year) if traded after June 1.He makes around $3 million this year and $5 million next year, so the numbers actually are a wash if they wait to June 1. That would be the smarter deal for the Bengals -- trying to get a starting caliber player before camp and a high pick next year.

Teams who I think will make a play for Johnson: Skins, Eagles, Cowboys, Bills, Jags, Vikes, Titans, Bears.

Here's my top 3:

1. Redskins: Dan Snyder has to be getting an itchy trigger finger. All these picks and all the cut salary this offseason= Snyder possibly offering a 1st for Johnson.

2. Jags: Putrid WR and the draft has not been kind to them in the past at WR. Getting Johnson could put them over the top in the AFC arms race.

3. Eagles: They have a huge bargining chip with Lito Sheppard and they expressed interest in Johnson a few months ago when it was clear the Fitz deal wasn't going to happen. It's clear to me that they know they need a stud WR sooner than later.

To really have a clue where he's going, we need to look at the cap ramifications. Trading players in the NFL are difficult because of the contracts involved. Perhaps before people start spouting off "good fits" or deals that "make sense". Looking at Chad's contract and the potential cap hit is a good place to start.

Uh, that's already been addressed here:

Might want to read the whole thread before posting.....

As a Pats fan, I'd hate to see it, but the team that should go after him is Indy. Get the ridiculous set of weapons back in front of Manning while the defense is still at its peak and take a shot at getting Manning 51.

My bad, I just skimmed the thread and didn't catch it.Put me in the camp of I don't think that he get's traded.

I don't see Brown trading him at all, but if he does it's going to be to a NFC squad.Washington would be the spot if I was Brown for 2 reasons.1. Synder has the ability and past record of over paying.2. Washington is far enough away from the Bengals. The down side is the Bengals play Washingtron, Dallas and Philly this year.
Actually, that would be ideal for the Bengals. They'd get a big hyped up matchup the year they traded him, then they wouldn't have to play him again for four years.

I'm torn. As a Bengal fan, I want what's best for the team, which would probably be a trade for a 1st and 2nd. As a fan of the NFL, I'd like to see the Bengals take a stand and not give in, make him sit out or play.

That said, I see CJ as a Buc.

Why not just ask for 1st round picks for the next 10 years?

Pat Kirwin says the price is 2 1st round picks. I'd say he's a pretty good source for that type of thing. If they don't get close to that, let him sit.

I understand that, but Chad Johnson with Wayne, Clark, Harrison, Gonzalez, and Addai would probably be the best receiving corps Manning ever had. With the defense in decent shape, they'd be taking maximum advantage of their window, and it wouldn't take long at all for Johnson and Manning to get to know each other. Plus, Indy would have every NFL commercial ever made.

No team is going to pay that. Any shot they had of getting even a single 1st rounder went out the door when Chad started his #####ing.
