It's time to forget about Travis Henry. Actually, that time has long passed.

do they need to cut him? if they get rid of McNair, they are going to have tons of cap room. I think a trade of Henry would be more likely than outright releasing him. He can't make that much money.

Here we goThe Bill’s Travis Henry was sentenced to 100 hours of community service for sexual misconduct with a 15-year-old girl.
Titans RB Henry suspended four games
NFL.com wire reports
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 26, 2005) -- Tennessee Titans running back Travis Henry was suspended for four games by the NFL for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
Henry's suspension begins immediately. He will miss the Oct. 2 game with AFC South rival Indianapolis and won't be back until Oct. 24 before the game with Oakland.
CBS reported on its pregame show Sept. 25 that Henry would be disciplined. That was news to the Titans, and coach Jeff Fisher declined to comment after a 31-27 loss in St. Louis. Henry called it a league issue and said, "No comment."
Fisher said the league notified the Titans of the suspension Sept. 26, but he didn't have any specifics about the violation or Henry's appeal.
"Travis is extremely regretful for his actions, for his choices, for his decisions. It has affected him personally, his family and obviously has hurt this football team. We will in all likelihood make a move over the next couple of days to replace Travis on the roster," Fisher said.
Henry's agent, Hadley Engelhard, did not respond to phone messages. The running back was not in the Titans' locker room Sept. 26.
The Titans will get much-needed salary cap relief because Henry was suspended without pay, and Fisher said they may turn to rookie Damien Nash, a fifth-round draft pick out of Missouri, or Jarrett Payton, the son of the late Walter Payton and a member of their practice squad.
Eddie George, Tennessee's all-time leading rusher, also is available after spending last season with the Dallas Cowboys.
"We're going to look around and see if there are some other possibilities," Fisher said.
Payton was hopeful the Titans will give him the opportunity.
"It takes a little while to learn the offense, so I've been here for a while. I understand the offense. I think I showed that in the preseason and all during camp, and I think they can trust me," he said.
The Titans swapped a third-round pick to the Buffalo Bills for Henry in July, just before training camp. They wanted the four-year veteran as an insurance policy for Chris Brown, who has had problems staying healthy during his first two seasons.
Fisher said they asked league officials about Henry before the trade and were only told that the running back was in a league-mandated program.
"At that point, we felt that Travis was in the program and things were moving along well. Obviously, no one really knows what took place between now and then," Fisher said. "What we do know is we'll be without his services for the next four weeks."
Asked if Henry's participation in the program meant this suspension punished a second violation, Fisher said that was "not necessarily correct."
Henry's only legal problems in the NFL came while a rookie with Buffalo in 2001. He was sentenced to 100 hours of community service for having a consensual sexual encounter with a 15-year-old girl in New York.
While on suspension, Henry can attend meetings and work out at the team's headquarters.
"We expect Travis to get help, comply fully with the league requirements as far as the suspension is concerned. That would include testing, counseling, etc., etc. ... My hope is that Travis Henry will be in the best football shape of his life in four weeks."
Henry, who remains the University of Tennessee's all-time leading rusher, was a 2001 second-round pick by Buffalo, where he started 48 of 53 games in four seasons with the Bills, and he rushed for 3,849 yards with a 4.0-yard average and 67 touchdowns.
He demanded a trade after Willis McGahee took over as the starter and sat out the last five games of 2004 after tearing ligaments in his right ankle.
But Henry missed most of the preseason after hurting his left toe. He has 31 carries for 97 yards this season.

I know people who work at Hopevale. Many of the girls there could easily pass for 18 or older. Still don't see how this makes him a "sexual predator" but whatever. He did plead guilty to "attempted sexual misconduct".Travis Henry was accused of having consensual sex with a 15-year-old girl in his home. The girl, a runaway from the Hopevale residential facility for girls whom Henry had met at a Camp Road gas station, told Henry she was almost 18.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/news/2001/1026/1269328.htmlplease explain to me how this guy is a "sexual predator"HAMBURG, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills rookie Travis Henry pleaded guilty Friday to trying to have sexual contact with a 15-year-old girl.
Henry, a running back, will be sentenced Nov. 9. He faces up to 90 days in jail and a maximum $500 fine for the misdemeanor, but it is more likely that he will have to do community service.
"It is unusual for anybody under similar circumstances to receive sentences of incarceration in situations like this," District Attorney Frank Clark said.
The guilty plea puts Henry under review regarding the NFL's personal-conduct policy and could lead to a suspension, fine or both. The team will not comment until Henry is sentenced, Bills spokesman Scott Berchtold said.
Henry was at a suburban Buffalo gas station when two girls approached him Sept. 23. The three went to Henry's home, and the 15-year-old girl told him she was almost 18, Clark said.
In agreeing to charge Henry with a misdemeanor, Clark took into account that the encounter was consensual, there was no evidence of physical or psychological coercion, and the two were relatively close in age.
Henry turns 23 on Monday.
He was not immediately available for comment.
"Mr. Henry did neither better or worse than the great number of people that fall in the same factual setting as he did," Clark said.
The charge, attempted sexual misconduct, covers any attempt of sexual contact between an adult and someone younger than 17.
"He realizes it was an error of judgment," Henry's lawyer, Terrence Connors, said. "And it's a hard lesson to learn."
Connors denied his client received any privileges because he is a pro football player.
"If anything, the scrutiny was more intense rather than less intense," Connors said. "Travis Henry accepted responsibility for his actions."
Henry is the first rookie running back to start a season with the Bills since Thurman Thomas in 1988. Henry leads the team with 303 yards on 97 carries in five games.
Henry, Tennessee's career leading rusher, was drafted in the second round.

#1 He was 22 at the time. Unless he has some other convictions or charges I'm unaware of, it certainly looks like this was a one time incident. I have a cousin right now who is 17 and her boyfriend is 24. That seems wrong to me and her parents aren't too happy about it either, but I don't think it's illegal. I remember quite a few girls I knew when I was in high school who were dating guys who were in college. I remember friends in college hooking up with high school girls. I remember lots of freshman girls in high school (14 years old) dating seniors (17 years old). To me anyway, it seems a little silly to call all of those people rapists and sexual predators, although they really didn't do anything different than what Henry did.#2 I'm not trying to defend anybody, and it has absolutely nothing to do with him being a former Buffalo Bill. I think Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, and Bruce Smith did much, much worse things than Henry ever did yet they are going to all wind up in the Hall of Fame. I honestly couldn't care less about Travis Henry. If he was guilty of molesting a child or being a sexual predator, I'd want him punished to the full extent of the law just like anybody else. What I don't agree with is people throwing out accusations and labels like "sexual predator" and "child rapist" when they aren't really appropriate.Hey, whatever you need to tell yourself Aaron.
If you had a 15 yr old daughter, Im sure youd be cool leaving her around Henry, knowing that he wouldnt touch a 15 yr old as long as he knows she was 15.
Anyways, Ill drop it. I dont really care to argue it anymore, and I dont like the idea of FBGs defending criminals. Kinda sad really. Probably better to let this fall off the 1st page.

O Smith went to Tennessee, but was booted out for marijuana (hence the Henry comment). He transferred to Oregon, sat out 2000, and finished up his college football career there.I think he stays in TEN, I believe Chrissy Brown is an UFA after this year. He's the one thats gone after this year. Henry just signed a new contract this year and isn't costing the Titans much. I think all three will see action this year.
Also...I think someone eluded to Onterrio Smith and T. Henry both going to UT, but I believe Onterrio went to Oregon.
