Where will the Pats fans go? (1 Viewer)

Without a doubt, Patriots fans have become the most annoying and arrogant fans in sports. Where will they go when the Patriots fail to win the Superbowl? Most have become absolutely convinced of their team's invincibility. From the sounds of it, the Pats may never lose again, at least not while Tom Brady is under center and BB is calling the shots (or should I say directing?).

I'd assume we'd go to the Garden to watch the league leading Celtics, then to Fenway to watch the world champion Red Sox, then to the NFL draft to see who they get with their early first round selection.

The Celtics part is really gonna let you down guy. I hope you know this.

:goodposting: :goodposting:  I'll probably be going to an old age home, if I live that long.

If you'd seen any Celtics over the past, ohhhhh, say 20 years... This is a long time coming. Let us revel in a little bit of NBA relevance again. Even if it doesn't hold up.

You're joking right? Boston fans deserve nothing at this point but playoff losses. Blame your constituents for being the biggest group of jackasses in the history of North American sports. Only English soccer fans have anything on you at the moment. :lmao:

What means this?True (as opposed to the bandwagon) Pats fans won't "go' anywhere. And no one will be less surprised than this Pats fan if they don't win it all. In fact, the signs are they are going to "do an Indy" and lose in the first playoff game :lmao:

Awfully broad brush you carry there. :lmao:

Not really. I'm a baseball fan first. ;)

I'm not sure you can say without a doubt anymore. Have you seen the thread argueing for Manning to still have a more impressive TD passing season? I'd say Manning/Colt fan is trying real hard to catch up now. Patriot hater certainly seems to be worse than Patriot fan right now.

And if anyone thinks I'm just a Patriot fan, I'm a Falcons fan who cheered for Manning to get his ring last year so people would stop (or slow down) the hating on him for not winning the big one. Who knew that the only thing worse than the 'arrogant' Patriot fan would be the 'jealous' Colt fan who is pissed that Manning's TD record will fall to a hated rival.

Prove me wrong. I know you can't. :lmao:

Patriots fans are not necessarily the most arrogant fans. I think the Red Sox and Celtics fans are just as bad or maybe worse- Oh wait a second, never mind, they are the same people.

What will the Patriots fans do when they lose in the playoffs- gee- I know- the same thing they always do if they lose- BLAME THE REFS.

I actually have little to no issues with the Patriots but I am an overt hater of Red Sox fans and for good reason. There is no way I could ever root for the Patriots thinking a Red Sox fan might benefit (I'd even root for the Cowboys :X ). Celtics fans have been gone for so long it's hard to say but I do remember the 80s. But they aren't going to beat any Western Conference teams so all Boston haters can sleep easy. They won't beat the Pistons either. :lmao:

Okay, I'll bite: why are Pats fans any more annoying than any other fans of a great team? 90's-00's Yankee fans are awful. Cowboy fans in the 90s were awful. Bulls fans in the 90s were awful, Laker and Celtic fans in the 80s, etc. And don't forget the most arrogant fans of all: 1972 Dolphins fans. I'm a Pats fan, so I'll claim bias. I also am a realist. It wouldn't surprise me if the Colts beat the Pats in the playoffs this year. The teams seem to be built in an almost 180 degree design from each other earlier this decade. For once, bad weather in NE would hurt the Pats vs. the Colts. Most of the Pats fans I know feel the same way. Of course, should we beat the NYG tomorrow and then win the Super Bowl, then you have yet to see arrogant, and with cause.

I don't really care that much. I'm not a big fan of the NBA. I'm enjoying watching these guys, but not nearly as much as football and baseball. And I don't blame you for hating Red Sox fans. We've talked before about the Red Sox fan mentality and we agree on a lot of points.

I'm also a PATS fan and it wouldn't shock me if the colts came here and beat us.It can be done. They better play their best game unlike the first game where we ran about 20 draw plays up the middle with LoMo and got next to nothing.

But I think it's time to give this a rest as it's getting way out of hand with 1000+ post about the pats fans.

If we lose I'll still be right here and I'll just be looking forward to 2008.

It's football not life.

I find it pretty humorous that after viewing the few dozen 'hate' threads over at the very least the entire months of Novermeber and December, and it of course started well before that, ranging from who's gonna throttle them to how Brady needs to have his legs broken to how theyre forever running up scores to being a bunch of classless, dirty cheats to showing no respect for the game to Shady Brady to Belicheat to asterisk symbols at every turn to Brady dumping his girl to impregnate yet another to Brady being arrogant during PCs to how theyre going to choke in the playoffs to how the record #s should be minimized to now where the Pats fans are going to go run and hide when they lose, that its the Pats FANS that are still labeled the most annoying. Some of you knuckleheads seem to spend your time stuck in Superbizzaro mode. Tighten up already.

Yeah I'm not a big NBA guy but the Celtics are a great team to watch. Again, I don't hate the Pats. Really don't.

Good meltdown possibilities here.

I can only imagine how pathetic it must be to have more interest in a team you hate than in your own team.
You've never been a Lions fan, you wouldn't understand. But as a Lions fan there's one lesson that you always know, that your team is beatable.

The smaller the person, the bigger the hate.

A friend of mine directed me to this site saying "It's the best fantasy forum in the world".

Is this type of thread common where someone is just looking to start a war? I'm not a Patriots fan, I do know a few though and they are people just like everyone else. I think it's human nature to get a bit cocky when your team is 15-0 and appear invincible. It must be nice to be a Boston sports fan right now. I've met many fans through my lifetime and honestly Boston fans are in my mind some of the better fans. I would say that Cowboy fans tend to be the most brash fans of all and truth be told I would say Eagles and Raider fans are the most rowdy fans and I don't mean that in a good way. I have been to most stadiums at some point and those are the only venues I would encourage an alcohol ban, yelling at children(ages 5-11) by way of "F Bombs"for wearing the other teams jersey/hat is unacceptable. I have not witnessed this in any Boston venue. Let's let the Boston fans enjoy the success of their team and not show such jealousy.

I've been to several Cowboys games and always found their stadium fans to be very polite. Philly fans, I'll agree with you there but you have obviously never been to Spring Training or in a neutral environment with Red Sux fans. Maybe you don't like baseball or something. Some teams are hated for winning and some specifically for their fans. I think Pats fans are by-in-large a decent group but those same fans are as obnoxious as any fans I've ever encountered in bases. Someone said earlier in this thread that Yankee fans are more annoying but it's really not even close. Yankee fans know their baseball and they like to mix it up but they are also realistic. I ####### hate the Red Sox, I can't like the Patriots because of that even though I really like watching their team. Also this is a thread typical of this year. During football season this forum is great with a lot of homer updates and the paid stuff is solid. There is no site dealing with fantasy football that even comes close to this one. You just have to pick through the weeds on occasion to get to the bottom of things. Also nice username. :wall:

Personally... I find the Patriot Haters WAYYYYYYYYY more annoying than the Boston fans.

Every era has a great team to symbolize it... if NE wins the SB this season, this decade will have clearly belonged to them. I say, sit back and enjoy the show. Just hope that your favorite team can one day be as good. :wall:

Nah, that wouldn't be as much fun. Besides, not much Fantasy Football value happening this time of year, most leagues have already finished for the season.Maybe this board is not a true reflection of real Patriots fans, but since I don't live in the Boston area, I wouldn't know. But the point of the original post still stands, where will they go? Will they admit that their team wasn't unbeatable? Unlikely.

If daily throughout the entire season is common, then I'd say yes.Apparently, the forum owner has some bug up his ### about the Pats and their fans, so he lets this stuff slide. Any other smack is discouraged, so you're safe as far as that goes. I wouldn't mind a little smack talk in a football forum if the people dishing it out could take a little w/o crying about it.If you play IDP, however, check the IDP forum --- that's all ball....and coincidentally absent Joe's Pats bashing circus.

True (as opposed to the bandwagon) Pats fans won't "go' anywhere.
;)Are you implying there is such a thing as a non-bandwagon Patriots fan? :lmao:
This is embarrassingly bad smack talk.
You misunderstand, there was no smack talk. Sometimes basic information is bland though.
It's better than the toxic waste thing, but not much. Maybe if you used fewer smilies?

oof. The owner has something against the Pats? Yeah you probably believe that because it's convenient to your argument which essentially sucks. Go away, right now.

Well, I don't know the guy, but it's been mentioned a couple times, and his board definitely reflects it --- doesn't seem like such a stretch.

The problem is the crossover between real Pats fans and the ignorant drunk Red Sox fans who have slimed their way into Patriot nation.

The football community as a whole reflects it. The owner has locked several threads of this sort because they got out of hand but the relevance of the discussion is appropriate. Problem is people with strong feelings on either side let it get to them. It's a ####### sport and its not even as important as say..baseball but people seem to get wrapped around the axle where there is no chance of having a decent discussion. You really aren't helping. If I was a Pats fan I wouldn't say anything (bostonfred) until they won it all. There is really no reason to defend a 15-0 team. You simply should enjoy the ride and laugh all this off IMO. I know I would.

Well, I've been enjoying the ride all season and the only reason I stop by this forum is to laugh at these threads, but thx for the insight. Props to IDP, though -- those guys helped me a ton. Now, if you really wouldn't say anything as a Pats fan, then it's too bad you aren't one -- the board might have a little more football chat, and a little less Pats trolling spam. Like I said, it's not the smack that bothers me, it's the simultaneous crying about it.btw, baseball sux.

I think you're mistaken if you mean to imply that Red Sox fans don't know their baseball. I'm sure you can find arrogant fans for any major sports city, especially at the time that a specific city might be experiencing success. You sound bitter, I'd be bitter too if my team blew the World Series against an NL team these days. Sorry for the dig, I couldn't help it.As for the Celts and Pistons, we shall see what happens there. You seem awfully confident of your Pistons. I would not be surprised if the Pistons won the East, but I would not be surprised if the Celtics won it either. The game they played a little over a week ago was very close, I'll take a 10 ft. jumper by Pierce with the game on the line anyday. I don't see how a Pistons or Celtics fan could be overly confident that their team is better than the other.

I think you're mistaken in me ever saying Red Sux fans don't know baseball. Also the "dig" is what Red Sox and Boston fans are all about. That is exactly what makes you in particular an obnoxious ###. :lmao:

You're awfully judgemental and you sound bitter. I think a little good natured ribbing is ok, obviously my skin is a little more thick. Speaking of arrogance, you're pretty arrogant about your Pistons. That would make you a hypocrite.
