Voting to remove the Presidential veto on the Saudi Bill

Oh wait, is that maybe just incredibly stupid?

I'm not voting because both candidates suck.

My vote on this poll is "your face"

If a person is quoted but nothing is added does that mean you agree with their post? If so, why not just Like it? Just asking.

I don't think either is patriotic or unpatriotic.
Patriotic = expressing devotion and support for one's country.

If dishing one's country is not unpatriotic, then what does the term even mean?   Of course it is unpatriotic to disrespect the symbol and anthem of one's country.  I am not sure why it is so offensive to say the obvious.

It's not disrespectful to remain seated when a song is played.
It is fine when it is a song.  But when it is specifically the national anthem, you are suppose to stand to show respect.  So when you do not stand in an attempt to send a message, what message are you sending?  This is really not that hard.

Arbitrary patriotism is meaningless. If someone had decided 100 years ago that "kneeling down" was the proper way to show respect to the anthem, you would be railing on anyone who had the audacity to stand.

How is it arbitrary?  Protocol of proper behavior to show respect is documented in the US Code, passed by Congress and signed by the president.  You can not get any less abritrary than that.  He even expained his purpose.   "I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color."

You can't even legitimately argue semantics.  The whole point that it is not patriotic is absolutely asinine.

US Code dictates that you must put your right hand over your heart during the anthem. Hardly anyone does that, especially athletes. Where is your outrage?

Or are you employing the liberal tactic of situational ethics?

I have willfully decided to not vote for any candidate in a particular race before.  I still showed up to vote for others.

I'm not saying, I'm just saying.

My tactic is using his own words to define what and why he did it.  I know it is hard for you to comprehend such reasoning.

BTW, I am not showing outrage.  I am just stating a simple fact.

You said it was unpatriotic to disrespect the anthem of a country.

Then you cited US code as the arbiter of how "respect" is defined.

I'm simply pointing out that almost every player in the NFL is violating US code. Yet you are completely silent on their blatant display of "disrespect".

If you're going to cite the US Code as the justification for your outrage, then you should apply it equally instead of selectively. Otherwise your point is meaningless.

I am not outraged.  Get over yourself.  I am not going to argue idiotic semantics with you.  It is what it is and he stated his reason which was not to show respect to this country, which by definition is unpatriotic.  It is ####### stupid to argue this.

If you had originally written, "Kaepernick is unpatriotic based on what he stated," then I wouldn't have posted anything.

But you didn't write that originally, did you?

No. Because you decided to make the claim that Kaepernick was unpatriotic based on his violation of US Code.

And that, my friends, is why you're wrong_mx.

His words put the actions in context.  I love how fools keep claiming I am 'wrong' when they have zero case.  Whatever bud.  Bye

Patriotism is overrated.

Caring for other human beings is where it's at.  The game is always bigger than cheerleading for your team.
