Jordy Nelson will take over for Jennings, but who will get the start opposite him? Driver is listed as the #3 on the depth chart, but Jones is obviously more explosive.

I don't think Jordy Nelson will benefit at all from Jennings injury. He is now going to go up against the other team's strongest CB. I think who benefits the most might change from game to game because Rodgers doesn't usually lock into receivers and finds an open man. He did lock into Finley at the beginning of last season but hasn't done so since. I expect Finley, Driver, Jones and possibly Cobb will have more balls come their way. I have Jones in 1 league so I hope it is him but I don't know if I would risk starting him over one of my other options.

It has been a while since Finley blew up so he is due. However I am starting Finley this week so it will be someone else, anyone else, that will blow up.

You can bump them all slightly but I'd would think Jones should be the one to benefit most from Jennings injury. The Pack paid him, Rodger's stepped up for him. If ever there was a time for him to shine, it's now. However, the Pack plays matchups and Rodger's finds the open receiver so, once again, crapshoot.

Cobb best matches Jennings' big play and deep speed role, and won't face the top coverage Jennings always does - and this is a good time to see what the rook brings. But without Jennings they also may want a more veteran presence out there. With Rodgers, everyone will get more looks. What team can match the depth of Jordy, Finley, Jones, Cobb and Driver, let alone that group with Jennings? Too bad more options means a somewhat lesser value in fantasy circles.

as a Finley owner, I'm looking for a voting option for "anyone except Finley". dude is wack.
Sorry for your goose egg last week against the Raiders. But he's bound to break out this week. Note to Pettigrew owners out there, watch what Mike Mitchell did to Finley last week and take caution. MM is on a roll.

I was surprised to not see Cobb as an option.

By blow up I'm not sure if that means put up the best numbers or see the biggest increase in production?

If it is biggest increase in production I doubt it is Nelson as his numbers are already very good. I think there is still enough talent as a group that Rodgers won't lean on anyone in particular. I think the greatest bump in production would probably fall to Jones or Cobb.

I don't care as long as it's one of them, I'm guessing Nelson .... Would prefer Finley since that would be a double dip

I'm going up against both Rodgers and Finley this week and I have an awful feeling that Finley's the one to blow up.

For some reason, Finley does not seem to be part of the GB game plan. Switching WRs should not impact Finley one way or another. Rodgers is playing smart ball. I do not think he is going to start looking for Finley at this point in the season.

Randall Cobb
I own him and won't play him because of the risk, but this seems quite possible. Why? He is the one who is going to see the biggest bump in snaps. And he will keep playing late into a game that is a blowout. And he is talented.

I am completely outgunned in my semifinal matchup this week and may elect to roll out both Jones AND Cobb in hopes of catching lightning in a bottle.

Third receiver would be either Brandon Lloyd or Mike Wallace depending on whom I feel better about given their respective QB's health concerns.

I'll feel better about their prospects if Saine stays concussed and out of the passing game equation.

karma from everyone saying bump finley to annoying depths. i have him as well, he is worthy of cutting in redraft all year until now.

He's TE8. Obviously he hasn't been the stud people had hoped for, but I doubt anyone cut him unless you're playing in an 8 team league.

I've now got Driver and Jones in a league. If I start one, it is probably going to be Jones. More of a boom/bust type of guy I think.

Bumping to ask what the SP thinks about this situation going into Wk 16 Championship week.

Last week's dreadful week against KC summary:

Driver caught 2 of his 4 targets and a short TD. Only got 17 yards.

Cobb caught all 4 of his targets for 53 yards.

Nelson, who should have had a great game, only caught 2 of his 4 targets for 29 yards.

Finley, who had a whopping 10 targets, only caught 3 of them (but for 83 yards).

This was a bad game for A. Rodgers and the Packers as injuries on the OL finally caught up with them and the Chiefs were in his face all day. Expect the Bears to be no less relentless. So resetting for Sunday Night's matchup, which calls for cold dry weather, what's the guess for pass distribution, targets, etc.

My biased opinion (as a Cobb owner) is I like that he caught all of his targets, and he seems to be taking on the Jennings role. I think his role only increases this Sunday. I had the chance to take either Driver or Cobb, and I have no regrets with my decision. Driver looks only playable in TD heavy leagues. He just doesn't run patterns that put him in space to go for a breakaway score. I think he'll be a decent start in that he's a got a decent chance to score, but I don't like his floor. Nelson was an abberation. He should bounce back, and if I was lucky to own Nelson, I'd play him without hesitation. Finley will continue to get his targets and should also be in line for a good game.

thoughts?

The Bears have been awful at defending the TE this season, but Finley looked terrible at times against KC. Rodgers' trust in him has to be wearing a little thin.

i know you probably did not mean it like that but it would be pretty horrible if a packer actually exploded into smithereens especially right during the holidays

I pretty much agree. I would start Jordy with confidence. I am thinking about starting Cobb because I think he has the greatest potential after Jordy to have a big game. But he will need more than four targets; so I am a bit leery of Cobb. The rest are even riskier. Will Rodger's play improve this week? Will the beat up OL improve protection? I don't know.

How late into the game will starters plays? If they do pull starters in the third quarter, will it benefit Cobb? I think so.

If GB was serious about playing their starters down the stretch, which they will probably do against Chicago, simply becuase their players need to stay sharp and you can't give them almost a month off without serious action, we're talking about the #3/#4 options after Jordy Nelson and JerMichael Finley. So, maybe the options are limited to begin with?If we do see some reduction in targets from Nelson and Finley, or argue that neither of these guys are really a #1 guy, which means the ball gets spread around more, I thought Driver would have less snaps because of his age, and maybe Jones/Cobb would get more time on the field, specifically Cobb, so that he's a more experienced weapon come playoff time.

If the Packers offense does go nuts at home against the Bears, or simply have a 17-20 point lead, my worry is that the Packers just go through the motions and run the clock in the 2nd half. Can the Bears offense make this a game? That seems unlikely.

Oh, I think the Bears can make this a game. Even with their rotating QB's. Their defense is going to hound whoever is the GB QB. I'm a little worried that San Fran gets upset on Saturday, and then the Packers would trot out Matt Flynn on Sunday Night and completely rest Rodgers. What would be the point of exposing him when they have home field locked up through the playoffs? Even if Rodgers does play, I think they'll stick to quick conservative playcalls and lots of draw plays up the middle. This could be a game right through to the last possession.

Lots of hyperbole going on here. This is still Bears v Packers and I can't believe the Pack would give up an opportunity to drive the final stake in the heart.

This is what im thinking (granted as a hopefuly Rodgers/Jordy owner), but I just cant see how you dont have a TERRIBLE taste in your mouth from last week and come out to try to destroy your biggest rival and "set the record straight". As confident as they talked last week (we are going for it, we dont play scared, yada yada yada), if they shoot for ANYTHING less then the above they are basically saying to themselves and everyone else that they are all smack talk and nothing more.

Rodgers never stopped going to Finley last week, I wouldn't worry about him.

Jordy Nelson I would worry about. He clearly didn't deal well with drawing the #1 receiver coverage that used to go to Jennings.

I am a jennings/Nelson owner that will be sitting Nelson this week after a terrible game last week. The pack just does not have anything to play for. I have some depth (DHB) sitting on the bench and would rather roll the dice with a team that is fighting for the playoff's. I am officially off the GB bandwagon however, i do thank them for gettting me to this part of the year.

Other than the No. 1 seed not yet being secured and playing their biggest rival, I agree it's a pretty meaningless game.
