Do any of the above make it into the playoffs ? I don't think so ? Your thoughts ?

Out of those 6, I'd say the Jags and 9'ers are most likely.

Tennessee might as a wildcard team. They beat a decent Jags team in Jax, then they lost a close game to Indy. They've got only a middle of the pack defense but they've been solid against the run - which is important, imho. They're offense should be slightly better than average if they can get any passing game going (as right now, they lead the NFL in rushing yards per game). Summary: Tenn can run the ball, they can stop the run and they have a good QB - me thinks that = playoffs.Denver has a good offense and their D has been good - but they can't stop the run (they're ranked 27th in yards rushing given up/game - and they've played Buffalo and Oakland  ). I think Denver's inability to stop the run will cause them problems - especially when they face LJ and LT...twice each. playoffs for Denver.

Detroit  - Weak defensively and they can't seem to run the ball (don't run the ball?) - 32 attempts by RBs would be good for a game - but not as a total after 2 games. They're the Rams of the 90's...except without a defense and without Marshall Falk.

For the most part, I agree - no playoffs, except for the Titans.

I would have to say Titans and Giants

NFC

Giants is a easy one.

AFC

Titans though because a lack of a consistent run game while Young having no one to really throw too. Defensively they are average.

I do think the Lions and 49ers make it.

Lions - they do not have a stud running back but I believe when Jones comes back ( this week ) and through the upcoming games, a split of him & Bell will work well. They may have average defense but the Oline is looking better then before & the passing game is very good with the amount of WRs and the leadership that Kitna brings to the field.

49ers - they have one of the best young backs in the league & a defensive that is playing better then people thought they would. Sure Smith isnt showing he belongs in the NFL but there were flashes last season. I think once Smith gets more comfortable with the playcalling & the play calling actually gets better, they will show more offensively.

Denver - I think they could be a surprise team and NOT make the playoffs. They do have the talent but one of these days the things shanahan does is going to bite him in the ### and cost him and the team

Order of their chances imo:1. SF

2. Det

3. Den

4. Tenn

5. Jack

6. NYG

NFC is a lot easier.

I'd be shocked if Denver misses the playoffs.
That's because you have Jake as your avatar. Let's take a look at the AFC 1st.Probable division winners:San DiegoIndianapolisNew EnglandPittsburg2 wild cards up for grabs probably between the following:BaltimoreCincinattiJacksonvilleTennesseeDenverHoustonDenver has the luxury of playing the Chiefs & Raiders a few more times. I still don't think they make it. NFC prognostication:Probable division winners:SeattleChicagoDallasCarolina2 wild cards up for grabs probably between the following:49'ers - undefeatedRedskins - undefeatedLions - undefeatedPackers - undefeatedBucaneersVikingsThis is tough. I'll say Packers & Redskins. Vikings could be tough if they can generate some offense. Maybe Chuckie, Garcia & Galloway surprise. I have no clue as to which two of the above makes a wild card. If I had to wager, I would say 49'ers & Redskins. I just can't see a wild card team from the Norris division.

49ers are gonna feel the loss of Manny. As was said in another thread, he was looking like he'd take his game to another level this year and start hitting that enormous potential he has. Whisenhunt needs to dig up some Plax and Ward tapes to see how to use two WRs in that O. GB him for bringing Edge's career back to life, now get those WRs involved with your talented young QB. Those WRs are the difference makers. The Cards are ordinary without them putting up big numbers.

Titans- Great coach and one heck of a game manager at QB. They'll lose in wildcard unless their WR/TE talent starts producing alot more but there's still time. Don't overlook Fisher's amazing ability to keep his team in any game with a great gameplan and top notch adjustments too.

Giants-NFC East is often a close tough division. I'm not too high on Washington. The Eagles don't look especially good. The Cowboys, like the Giants, are trying to figure out how to cover WRs. The Boys O is looking real good, but Glenn is sorely missed right now as neither Crayton nor Hurd is producing too too much other than a long ball here and there. That division is still wide open and today it looks like an 8-8 or 9-7 team could win it. Weak playoff team if they make it.

Jags-benching Reggie and Jones is all well and good but if the Jags don't run soon that team is gonna implode. That's their bread n butter. I don't see it unless they make a dramatic turnaround, I see JDR getting the axe too.

Lions need to find some players besides Sims behind that DL. Martz will sure get that O firing. I would not be surprised if they make the playoffs.

Broncos are a very good team. I've been saying all offseason they're gonna miss Al Wilson and been disagreed with plenty. They've replaced his talent more or less but replacing his field general/game management ability is tough. Rod Smith on O is another big loss in the leadership part. They've got guys that can be leaders, are or will be, just need time for the rest to "soak it in" and believe in them. It's coming, I expect real real good things from them in 07. Cutler gets better with time same with Marshall. Daniel Graham is a cold weather TE too and the Bronco fans will quickly figure out what I mean. Once the cold weather hits, his blocks pack an extra punch. Shanny will be pretending he's Orlando Pace or Hutch or somesuch and always have them run behind him. Give it time, it's starting already, he's gonna be adored in Colorado soon enough.

Nice avatar!Uh-h-h-h, what was the question again? (Jags due to schedule).
The Jags lost to the Titans and only put up 13 points against the Falcons. I just can't see them beating out any of the below listed AFC teams. Plus, one of the below seven teams won't make it either. I don't like the Jag's chances.ColtsPatriotsChargersSteelersRavensBengals Broncos

Remind me again who won the SuperBowl last year and how good their run defense was? Oh yeah, it was one of the worst of all time. No, I don't think that Denver's offense is on par with Indy's, but to dismiss them from even making the playoffs because of a poor run defense is a little exaggerative. Consider this from last year:

Indy was 32nd (dead last) in rushing yds/game

Philly was 26th in rushing yds/game

NYG were 24th in rushing yds/game

NO was 23rd in rushing yds/game

Seattle was 22nd in rushing yds/game

KC was 18th in rushing yds/game

NYG were 14th in rushing yds/game

All 7 of those teams made the playoffs, including the SB winner who was dead last in run defense. Those were some horrible teams against the run but still managed to make it (including KC in the AFC west). To say a team won't make it because of their run defense is just a little short-sighted. Denver has a lot of the pieces necessary to make it to the playoffs and then some. I think their overall inexperience is what will keep them from being a threat to win it all, but that could come in a short time I believe. Oh, and I'm a Saint's fan, so far from a homer.
