Which transaction is going to have the greatest impact this season? (1 Viewer)

On the eve of the regular season predict which transaction that happened during the offseason or preseason will end up having the greatest impact during the 2019 regular season?

Consider a unit’s statistical improvement, a team’s increase in wins, etc. to assess impact, but it’s your choice how you choose to weigh those factors.

Doctson to the Vikings. Super Bowl.

Just Kidding.

This guy probably won’t be on a ton of minds. But I think Desean Jackson to the Eagles could be a the extra gear they need to get back to the Super Bowl.  I’m not even an Eagles fan but am high on Wentz and that team. I think Jackson’s speed and deep threat really adds that cherry on top final element to that offense.

I’ll take a shot:

Duke Johnson to the Texans.

Gives the Texans a sneaky good runner, gives Watson a legit target & more importantly, a dump-off option when under pressure.

In that light, that’s a bit less that Watson will have to take off running, which may cut the number of hits he takes (including the dump-offs against the blitz)

all told, to answer in the requested terms, I give the Texans +2 wins for the move. Both in terms of Duke’s production/skill set & towards keeping Watson healthy.

Kyler Murray. That offense should be much improved statistically, and it's hard to imagine that they don't win at least 5 or 6 games (which would double their output from 2018).

Andrew Luck retiring from the NFL will be the transaction with the largest lasting impact imo. We are now in the reality where a top-5 (longterm) franchise QB is no longer competing for a playoff spot and SB's in the AFC. Pretty big deal, much bigger imo than most FA pickups or draft choices. This begins with the Colts fortunes obviously, but has a lasting domino effect on the rest of the league, the impact of which is incalculable.

Of course. The eagles would have to make it to the Super Bowl for me to be correct. Which I would not enjoy as a Vikings fan.

But Desean and Wentz on the right track to  proving that extra gear is still there. His first deep ball completely opened up the passing game for Wentz after the Skins failed to respect his speed.

This action directly led to Houston trading for Tunsil.  I think Tunsil may alter Houston's season more than any of the other moves this offseason, but it wouldn't have happened without Luck retiring, IMO.
