Shawn Nelson was a rookie last year, got hurt, then got suspended for the first 4 games of this season, and now he doesn't seem to be producing.

Is he a lost cause for the Bills?

Yes. He hasn't been very impressive and the Bills need blockers more than they need a pass catching TE anyway. I think Gailey would rather use a slot receiver like Parrish anyway for slants and stuff over the middle and Steve Johnson in the redzone.

Hmm. Hadn't figured in the OL situation so it makes sense to use a TE there.

From a fantasy perspective I'm not sure Nelson will have much of any value until the Bills do something to address their tackle positions. For years the Bills have failed to invest any talent there - they rely on street free agents/undrafted players or get some washed up free agent like Cornell Green. Hard to send your TE on many passing patterns with that type of talent on the line. Throw in a string of medicore quarterbacks and Nelson has zero value.
