Whitworth upset over nude filled interview (1 Viewer)

Is there no thread about this? I searched everywhere, maybe I'm a moron, if so please lock it up.

uncensored video:

It still baffles that male/female reporters are allowed in the locker rooms this soon after the game. What are the restrictions on who and when they can come in?

Andrew Whitworth@BigWhit77_fndn Oct 19
why do I have to explain to my kids why their dad is naked on tv? @nflcommish ?? @nflnetwork ?? Time for a media policy change!!

The policy should be changed. Although, I did not find the naked men to any more than only mildly titillating. I know there are probably some guys who would not want to be the subject of penis length memes.

What baffles me even more is the fact that nfl network aired this. Are they on no kind of delay to where they could pull the plug on this interview.

When it comes to (most) art forms, I agree with you. That is not what this is about, though. A shower/locker room is not a public place, and individuals ought to be allowed their own level of modesty.
True, that's fair. Like SengerCJ pointed out, I too was shocked they went with no delay... like, how did the entire crew not notices all the butts and dongs in the shot?

You can bet if this was a female volleyball team, there'd a media firestorm about this. The double standard exists. A media policy change is needed.
In.
WNBA locker room...not so much.
Unless Skylar Diggins is in that locker room.

I remember in the 2nd week of Vince McMahon's XFL that promised "open access" to the locker rooms at halftime. The cameras walked in with the players on live tv, with a guy standing at the urinal. The look on his face was priceless.

Between crap like this, ESPN reporting on Louiseville's "escorts" having sex with recruits (8am), and the viagra/cialis commercials and erectile dysfunction.....I'm either going to have to turn the TV off or tell my 5 year old about sex.

What the hell is wrong with our society? My kids aren't mature enough to process this garbage. Why is this allowed before 9pm?

Don't see the problem here.

No mother wants to answer the question: Hey mommy why does that football player have a horse d**k hanging off the front of him.

Or pay attention to what channel your 5 year old is watching?

Should those of us with kids have to be concerned with ESPN and the major networks during Sunday afternoon football games?...I'm not talking about HBO/Showtime/or your porn channels...douch

Yes, those of us with small children should be concerned with what they see on TV. All hours of the day, every day of the week, every week of the year.

So one dude thinks he knows how we should feel about nudity and another thinks they know how everyone should raise their kids.

I love the internet!

I never really understood the necessity for a locker room interview at all. Why are these players/reporters required to conduct business in a glorified bathroom anyway? Apparently no one has ever thought to set aside a conference room solely for the purpose of speaking with the media after a game.

My seven year old saw at least a dozen ED commercials watching Royals baseball. This was after school before 7pm the last two days. Is baseball not safe for viewing by grade schoolers?

How evolved of you. I hear Europe is hiring.

BTW, it's not about scandal, it's about basic privacy, and an obvious double standard.

Right. Wouldn't want your kid watching ESPN, NFL, or the 6 o'clock news. How neglectful!

"Im worried about bad influences on my kids and I go around calling people names."

EPIC irony.

So no football or other sports viewership with the 5-year-olds?

Let's not act like he's clicking over to the Playboy Channel with his kid in the room.

And he's spot on about the commercials. They are pervasive and indiscriminate at this point.

If the NFL is going to go NC-17, that's sad, but I suppose it's up to the league. But let's not talk out both sides of our mouth and pay lip service to being family/kid friendly to entice family viewership and then be the opposite in practice.

While this is true, the content of news shows, commercial content and things like this aren't provided beforehand and happen pretty much spontaneously in terms of the the viewers' exposure.

The only way to avoid accidental exposure would be to not allow kids ANY access at ANY time.

Since the networks and content editors could easily allow parents to control content access to kids by following standardized and published guidelines, that would seem to be a fairly efficient way of both allowing dissemination of the content to appropriate aged individuals while also limiting access to those of inappropriate age.

But apparently that's just too great a burden and it instead falls squarely on the parent who must choose to either preemptively deny access by their child to any and all content or, alternatively, must invent a time machine so they can preview the next hour's broadcast and commercial content so they can come back and click to a safe channel at the necessary time.

Ok. The NFL network showed a guys ###. Shouldn't happen, dumb to have cameras in there, they will address it.

Boner pill adds while annoying aren't going to cause society to crumble. A short conversation with your child.

Way more important things to get all indignant about.

I seem to remember being shown Visanthe Shiancoe's unit on T.V. I don't recall if he was called upon to comment on the matter. Likely he was too busy dating after the free advertising.

Glad to see this thread stayed on topic, guess it's was to be expected. My two cents would be that American television is already far too PG, we can't lose our "boner pill" ads and sex scandal reports.

Don't want to get off topic at all here, but do you have kids (for The General)? Not sure if you're just trying to stir #### up with James TheScot, but there is no way he should be having to explain what ED is to a 5 year old.

Why would you explain ED, it's medicine for an adult. I'd leave it at that. This is a weird topic to have in the Shark Pool.

The thread never had anything to with football, so how is it off topic?

I suppose it's foolish to consider the player privacy within a locker room to be football related.

EPIC? Boy you sure have a low bar view of what epic is. When did I "go around calling people names" in front of my kids?

Fear not, you can sleep well tonight knowing that I don't let my boys read fake football forum messages. Clearly I don't want them around you delinquents. ;)

The point isn't that your penis pills are WRONG. It isn't even the issue that some of you like looking at the naked male body in a locker room. It's that at ages 3-7-9, I just don't want to have my kids innocence stripped from them while watching TV at 8am/4pm. Sure we parents pay attention, but to think that we're sitting there at EVERY commercial break to change the channel or mute the TV is unrealistic.

It's very likely the guys in here that don't think these are issues aren't trying to raise little kids. It's fine. But for those of us that are, it is an issue of boundaries.

My vote is we let the naked football players finish their shower, collect their thoughts, and then interview them. If the suck reporters can't get a story outside the locker room maybe they can chase the guys down in the parking lot.

Son, sometimes Mr. General's Mr. Winky won't get big and fluffy when he wants to stick it inside his wife/girlfriend/partner to have #%# and enjoy himself. So he has to take a pill to make it fluffy. Sometimes it stays fluffy for 4 hours, then he has to take still fluffy Mr. Winkey to the doctor so the Doctor and look at Mr. Winkey and fix him.

or

they could show a car commercial

You and your kid have some weird conversations IMO but I'm not one to judge.

By the time my kids were 5, they knew that before you take a shower, you take off your clothes. They did it themselves, and they witnessed my wife and me do it plenty of times.

I don't really see how it'd be so scarring to see this sequence play out on television, unless perhaps they're being raised in a home where nudity is taboo, and this sort of thing only happens behind locked doors.
