Who are you dropping this week? (1 Viewer)

I know we have an official waiver wire thread, but I also thought I would make a "who are you dropping thread."

For me, I will be either adding Fred Taylor to the IR or straight up dropping him.

How about you? Who are you done with or giving up on? It is time to take a mid-year look at our rosters and adjust accordingly.

(Edit because I did not see the official thread for week 7)

Well, I know the guy I am putting in for first is definitely going to be Dominic Rhodes - just in case Addai's injury is not as minor as Dungy thinks. I also think Warrick Dunn may be worth a look, as it seems that Tampa has regained confidence in this guy. Who are you guys targeting on the wire this week? And as a new twist to this thread, who are you getting rid of?
Harrison, RB CLEespecially with PPR...

I'm bouncing Fred Taylor and hoping to pick up Sammy Morris or maybe Torain (or Rhodes if Addai's injury is serious).

I'm giving serious consideration to dropping Torry Holt too. Justin Gage is available and frankly I feel better about Gage and his upside right now than I do Holt's.

Amani Toomer for Rhodes.

Edit: Depending on Addai's injury. I've been holding onto the #1 priority in a 12 team dynasty for 3 weeks waiting for a good pickup.

Dropping Chris Perry. Hoping for Torain.

Picked up Bulger last week; may throw him back for a RB or WR but the injuries to Romo and Hass have me rethinking that one.

In another league, I'm hoping to drop JTO for Trent Edwards.

Scobee's been good but not good enough to occupy a roster spot while he sits on bye so off he goes.

I wouldn't drop Taylor just yet. He's still officially the starter.
Five games under 50 yards rushing. Four games of 25 yards rushing or less. 0 TDs. He's been a dog. He reminds me of Julius Jones last year. Jones was the starter too but he put up garbage numbers on a consistent basis. He never turned things around. My league has tight roster limits and I need to have a RB who is producing. Sammy Morris fits the bill and maybe Torain would too. I'd rather gamble on Torain's upside or Morris' consistency than keep Taylor and his 20 yards a game around. I do like Taylor's schedule but given the state of my team in my league I can't wait around for him. My season is on the line and I need production now. So he gets the boot unless someone on the WW list gets Morris ahead of me.

I need a QB for the Brees bye in week 9 and so I'll drop either the Vikes or Titans which really makes me  because I wanted to

go situational with that pair from here on out.

But...in a shallow league with Matt Ryan on the wire and he plays Oakland week 9....one defense has to go.

But which one?

time for one last :banned: and then make a typically bad decision......

Have to say this reminds me of last year. I dropped him after week 11, he had 0 100yard efforts and only 1 TD. He then rolled out 5 straight 100yard games with 4 TDs to boot, while helping my league mate to a championship.Just saying, that is the exact kind of thing I was thinking last year.

I don't know who I'm dropping, but this struck me as I was just offered Kyle Orton and Taylor for Ronnie Brown.2 QB league, I'm stuck with Peyton Manning and Matt Ryan (I had Brady). Just wondering whether to respond with an equally bad offer, tell him off, or not respond. What do the "cool" owners do?

Edge, if I can get shockey for him. Only have 5 reserve spots and have sjax, jacobs, turner and flash johnson as well. In the year of the non-TE I think shockey's upside can not be passed over. Let someone else deal with him and hightower!

Honey works better than vinegar. Be cordial, tell him you're pretty high on Brown and he's just getting healthier but you're not married to him and then ask for a player you think would be a good fit for your needs. No need to cut off future trade considerations by being a jerk. JMO.

Yea that's a legitimate concern here. There are some really great matchups for the Jaguars coming out of the bye so Taylor has some serious potential. But it's hard to ignore just how bad Taylor's production has been.

Dropping Heap who was a bye week filler for me last week. I am picking up Brad Johnson to cover Warner's bye this week.

This is why I haven't dumped him yet.

Kinda skimmed through this thread so forgive me if I missed something here but why would you drop Holt?

Because his production, except for one game, is terrible. In this past Sunday's game his longest reception was for 7 yards!I am considering dropping him to pick up Kevin Walter.I got Holt in the 5th round in a 12 team redraft and though he was a bargain. Oops, he wasn't.

Dropped Anderson before the game. Still don't trust him, and he has Quinn looking over his shoulder. I might regret it, but I went with a safe back-up pick.

Yup. I'm 99% certain I won't drop him but we're six weeks into the season and he's a WR4/WR5. It's just ugly there and I wouldn't be surprised if Avery emerges as the WR to have in that offense.

I picked Holt of off waivers as my 5th WR. I'm certain he will turn it around. Word is they are trying everything to get the ball in his hands as often as possible. It's just a matter of time now. Edwards just bounced back yesterday, were you as down on him, before last night?

Dropping Maroney. He makes me ill. I've got Ronnie, Lynch, and CJ3 in a start 2 league. Thinking of snagging Rickey, who was dropped last week. Hopefully he falls to me. If not, I'll drop Maroney for Donnie Avery or Ryan Torain.

I was kidding and countered with DeSean Jackson + for Big Ben.

steve breaston for avery. he will be going to the bye, and i think boldin will be good to good week 8. and breaston would be worthless.

Nope. I think he's an elite talent and elite talents rarely falter for long in my opinion. I didn't expect him to go off like he did last night but I figured it was a matter of time before he did.I hope you're right about Holt. I keep telling myself things will better. On the bright side, they can't really get any worse. But when we're six weeks into the season and 40-45 WRs are better producers than Holt that's a major problem.

I've got a ww request in for Holt. I'll be dropping Lance Moore & Bradshaw for him (need the cap room to fit him). I also may drop Bulger for Schaub.

So your saying Holt is no longer an elite talent? Is that the consensus around here?

I think the writing was on the wall a little bit here. He has struggled to stay healthy with his knees the past couple of years and you knew he was going to lose a step. I no longer think he has elite speed, he needs to rely on technique and superb hands now.

I think we'll learn a lot about Holt this week. The Cowboys have some serious issues in the secondary with Pacman suspended. If Holt can't do much this week I would view him as a lost cause.

I'm finally dropping Ted Ginn in my return yardage league. This last one catch for a negative yard performance is the nail in the coffin. He had a couple of decent weeks receiving, but is simply a waste of roster space....and we have 30 man rosters (IDP).

16 team and the only two I'm considering dropping are Carlson (TE-SEA) and Bush (RB-OAK).

Bush seems like a no brainer at this point but I'm having issues outright dropping Carlson since he had a TD this past week (two gooseggs prior to this week). My starting TE is Daniels and you never know what could happen with injuries, etc.

The only bye week need I have is a kicker. So I'll probably drop Bush for a kicker but I also want to grab Torain before the hype gets caught up to my leauge mates...

Dropping Domenik Hixon. I decided to hold in case the G-Men decided to get him involved based on his week 5 performance.

I need to pick up a D and K this week (will replace Scobee, but I don't want to drop the Eagles), and am about ready to cut bait on Perry.
