Who do I keep for next year? (1 Viewer)

First off, an apology in advance if this is the incorrect forum to introduce this query. Administrator, please feel free to move, if necessary. I thought I'd start here, as I'm interested to learn keeper league strategy from those in the know.

This is our league's first year keeping one offense and one defensive player for the following year. Based on where the player you keep was drafted the prior year, that is the draft selection you sacrifice the current year. There are 25 rounds and 10 teams. Please see starting settings in signature below.

Here are my options, as well as the draft pick I would have to sacrifice:

J Taylor - 13th round

D Edwards - 4th round

Urlacher - 5th round

A Davis - 6th round

June - 8th round

Dansby - 10th round

Thomas Davis - undrafted (25th round)

Daryl Smith - undrafted (25th round)

K Rhodes - 22nd round

Demps - undrafted (25th round)

The first IDP player, always a LB, taken was in the 3rd round (Vilma, poor SOB...) and there were 5 more LB's taken before I took Urlacher and A Davis in the 5th and 6th rounds. I typically go RB, RB, WR, WR, LB, LB (I've yet to not make the playoffs), and drafted from the #10 spot this year. I drafted Rhodes and Taylor, and assign value in the positions as indicated by where I drafted them (low and lower, due to depth available). I would assume to draft two players in the 5th and 6th rounds next year of the same caliber as Edwards/Urlacher/A Davis.

Thoughts:

1) If Daryl Smith sticks as the JAX MLB (barring a M Peterson comeback), he's awfully attractive as a 25th rounder.

2) Rhodes is enticing as a 22nd rounder in that he's top fantasy scoring DB in our league.

3) June is the league's 11th leading scorer at LB, so he's a strong candidate as an 8th rounder.

Still, this is our first keeper year, so I'd appreciate the insight and feedback from those with more experience. More than just "who you'd keep", I'm interested in learning the strategy used to determine who to keep.

Thanks and cheers! :pickle:

I see Rhodes, June, & Taylor as reasonable choices.

June may not be in Indy next year, and is the most expensive.

Taylor is a proven performer, and he should be a solid value for you at that keeper spot.

Rhodes is potentially the best keeper, but DB's can be flighty from year to year. I'd go with Rhodes, and hope he performs like a pick in the top 10 rounds. You won't get him that late again.
