Who do you have to win the pennants (1 Viewer)

I'll go with Texas v. San Diego, and here's why:

Up and down the rotation, I like Texas' pitching better than the Yankees. They also have arguablyt the best lineup 1-9 in the majors right now. I also don't see anybody in the Central beating Texas in the playoffs.

The Padres can win on the road. The Braves and Cards don't. Simple.

Talk me out of it if you will, but I can still get pretty good odds on a Rangers/Padres WS.

If the Phillies get healthy they are the best team in the NL. If they don't, I like St. Louis.

I also like, Tampa Bay in the AL. Well, I don't care about the AL as long as it isn't the Yankees.

RollinsPolanco

Utley

Howard

Werth

Ibanez

Victorino

Ruiz

Too bad that lineup has only been together for 6 games (scored 41 runs in those 6 games and went 6-0).

I like the Twins really. More extra base hits and less strikeouts. Seems the problem with this thing is moving guys from first. Plus, baserunning. If I got drunk enough you might even talk me into the Reds.

My brain says NY v St Louis rematch.
Updated after acquiring Oswalt and not losing Werth. :goodposting:
There's one little piece missing. Can someone call the 2008 version of Brad Lidge and tell him we miss him?
Lidge is irrelevant. His 2009 version was one of the worst, if not the worst in MLB history and the Phils still won the pennant.2009 Brad Lidge: ERA+ 59

2010 Brad Lidge: ERA+ 97

What we really need is Danys Baez to turn into 2009 Chan Ho Park.

I got to go with the Phils and maybe the Rays. I think that a lot of the other big boys have somewhat shaky starting pitching ( The Yankees) or are relying on younger pitchers who might or might not hit an innings limit or lose effectiveness as they get into higher innings totals. The Phillies have 4 veteran inning eaters (Blanton included) with three of them being legit 1 or 1A guys.

Baez is awful...... :X

Rays, Rangers, Twins, Yankees

Yanks over Minnesota, Texas over TB

Texas over Yanks

Phillies, Giants, Reds, Braves

Giants over Braves, Phillies over Reds

Giants over Phillies

Giants beat Rangers for the title.

Please disregard the timestamp below, someone is clearly trying to mess with me.

Rangers/Cards. With Lee anchoring the rotation and that potent lineup, I don't see them losing in the playoffs. The Cards are probably the most balanced team in the NL right now. I'm inheriting Texas as my team this year (:bandwagon:)

You do realize the lineup changed fairly dramatically right about this time, correct? There were also major health concerns with Josh/Cruz/etc.

Yeah, I know. I'm just having so much fun with the Rangers beatdown of the Yankees, I can't help myself.

So you call me out? Not following the motivation.

Giants and Rangers I guess just to be different.
Whoa
No props. It was admittedly a "just to be different" call as opposed to a conviction.
Thanks Yankees/Boise/Raiders/Bruins/Celtics fanOr is it Lakers fan? I forget.
Not a huge NBA fan, but I always liked Magic Johnson. Not a Boise "fan" either. I just champion their cause.

You should have tailed me cheech, I had Giants over braves in 5, Giants over Phils in 6 and Giants over Rangers in 6. You would have won boatloads. :ptts:
I took the Giants to win the series because of you! Thanks man
