who does blizzard conditions impact different players? (1 Viewer)

With all the snow this weekend it got me thinking; who is impacted and is it positive or negative.

I would think offenseively teams will be forced to run more which seems to add value to the tacklers like LBers and S. Speed rush DE and OLBs probably are negatively impacted on two fronts, a)QBs aren't dropping back as much and b) they depend on their footing and fast twitch to win battles which will be hampered by the conditions.

Does this reasoning make sense or am I overthinking?

What say you sharks?

Hard to say. Blizzard conditions will likely force more running plays, keeping the clock moving and possibly limiting opportunity. There will be little downfield passes, severely limiting the upside of any corner that cannot effectively support the run. Safeties might be affected, but they're more likely to be closer to the box and sometimes benefit from the lack of range and poor footing of the front seven. In general, keep to the best players in the best positions where you can.

In Chicago, that means I'd downgrade McCourty, Jennings and Peppers (whose pass rush upside is speed based) and not worry too much about Urlacher, Briggs, Tillman, Wilfork and Mayo. Really aren't a whole lot of options in that game anyway.

what about players for the CLE vs. BUF game.I am thinking more about Ward and Elam.
Same story, safeties possibly get a bump. I don't think much of either Ward or Elam at this point. Both in huge tier of DB3 with upside. Haden safest of corners, Posluszny and maybe Ayodele (LB3ish) only LBs I'd trust in most leagues. Roth's upside takes a small hit, too.
