I am, if he cant get anything done against the Rams he's pretty much toast, although I would have thought the same thing vs. NO, but they fell behind so quick, not sure what to think about that one
Don't think I agree. NO was a decent D playing badly til they got it together against SEA. Stl is just not a very good D. I don't know if SA gets it done or not, but I see it as LJ vs CLE. Now or never. I'm a Norwood owner and ATL homer, and he stays on the bench until BP proves he's going to use him.
Despite his big score last week, he only touched the ball 10 times. When that number hits 15 and I'm confident it will stay at 15+ a game, he needs to be on your bench until an emergency. SA vs STL is not an emergency, IMO.
He's riding the pine for me this week. I know Holmgren has come out and talked about fixing the running game but it looks like it's over for SA. Even if he comes out and scores a TD or 2 this weekend I still doubt I'd be able to get anything for him. If you have better matchups/options (ie: TJones,Jordan) I'd use them. I would start MBIII against the #2 run defense before I'd start SA.
I have said this elsewhere: SA has looked fine but the OL hasn't been as good. Last week the team fell behind from the first kickoff and playing catchup means the running game was abandoned. Wrist injury means SA hasn't been involved in passing game. I am starting him this week with confidence.
I am. And I am starting him over T. Jones, who also has a great matchup. I may regret it, it is pretty much a do or die week for SA. But I am giving him the chance against a horrible, horrible run defense.
