Who is Demarco Murray's dynasty handcuff? (1 Viewer)

Any Dallas followers know that answer here. I recently acquired Murray in a dynasty and I wish to handcuff him. Is Jones the guy or is it Tanner or somebody else I don't even know about? I'm leaning Tanner as I remember them talking about him last season as if he were a bit of a talent. Jones always seems to be in the doghouse. Any insight here?

Felix is the clear handcuff. I am not high on him, even assuming Murray goes down, but he will be the guy.

From a dynasty standpoint, I think Dallas will have a new handcuff for Murray next year. I think Felix is a FA, and Dallas can't rely on him.

The player you want is not on the roster at the moment for dynasty.Felix is gone end of the year.Tanner isn't a big deal yet.If you HAVE to pick one its Tanner.

Definitely Felix this year. He still looks pretty good to me when he's not diving for errant passes from Romo, and 6 for 68 receiving suggests he's the same guy he's been all along.

Given the experience with M Bennett it'll be interesting to see the Cowboy fans' reaction if Felix goes somewhere else and is successful.

I would say Tanner would ultimately step in if Murray lost time to injury. Jones has proven he is just not big enough to handle than more than about 15 carries a game. Tanner is built more like Murray and just seems more likely to me to be Murray's replacement over Felix.

hmmm . . . NFL.com lists Demarco Murray at 6-0, 217; Felix Jones at 5-10, 215; and Philip Tanner at 5-10, 217. I get that Jones has not shown he can be the workhorse back, but I would argue his game is more similar to Murray's than is Tanner's.

I have no idea how listed height and weight makes their games more similar.

Me neither. I offered the height weight comparisons in regards to the notion that Felix Jones was too small and Phillip Tanner was more physically similar to Murray.

They are built differently, Tanner more like Murray, Jones more resembling a scat back IMO.

Felix isn't too small, he just can't play for long periods of time without breaking. Not saying Tanner can't, but he might, which is more than one can sat about Felix.

I'm becoming completely convinced this is a real possibility. Jones has touched the ball nine times this year and busted off 13+ yards on five of them. There's nothing wrong with the guy except that he's been injured several times in his five year career.

A lot of that has to do with him being in the game in passing situations, so he's picking up longer runs as a result of the defense playing the pass rather than the run. With the way Murray has been playing though, I wouldn't be shocked to see this turn into more of a RBBC situation though.

Sure -- no doubt it's partly down to situation. But 13 yards is good for a RB pretty much no matter what the down/distance is. He's dangerous in space.

I just happened to look up the stats, and I thought you were talking about rushes...but you're talking about touches. I think you're jumping to conclusions to try to suggest that Felix is ultra productive based on such limited touches.Just from watching the games, a number of those 13+ yard plays (just from the limited plays I've seen) have come on final drives of the game when Dallas is down. In situations like that, you or I could pick up 13 yards, since the opponents are playing 20 yards off the ball in most cases. It's also worth noting that he's been pretty bad on kickoffs.
