Who is the backup RB to own in Cleveland (1 Viewer)

T J

Footballguy
I have Richardson and I want the guy who would be the primary if he were to go down.

I've read all three of these guys different places, so maybe it'd be a RBBC, but I gotta think one of them would be a better fantasy option than the other two. Just don't know which.

Brandon Jackson

Montario Hardesty

Chris Ogbonnaya

If it were you backing up Richardson, which one of these three guys would you look to add?

I would find another use for that roster spot.
Nope. Not the question. And I was even going to put a proviso in my initial post asking to spare me the exact type of comment that it only took the very first response to yield.Look, I get that the backup RB position for the Browns probably warrants that type of response, but my question remains.

I agree with the previous poster that all three are unrosterable.

Got it. Thanks. But again, not the question.

I did highlight the one I would own out of the three.

Ok, thanks.

Og has been the most involved so far. Id say he's the rb to own if trich goes down. Im sure someone else would get touches too. Ogbanaya looked pretty good last year when his nber was called iirc. Im sure ots pretty easy to look up his stats last year and that would b telling on the coaches view him. Also Jackson was acquired this year i believe so that also could be telling. Dont quote me lol its early and i didnt do amy research on wjat i said just off the top pf my head

I also wouldnt be startin any of these if rich went down n im a trich owner. If i had to tho id lean towards og

I'm a trich owner and honestly I can't even imagine wasting a roster spot on any of these guys. I know you don't want to hear that but it must be said.

Trich CREATES yards out of nothing bc he is talented. If he goes down it doesn't matter who his backup is bc the stat line week in and week out will read something like 50 total yards and maybe a td sprinkled in every 5 games and GL tryin to guess which games they will be.

Ogbonnaya especially if your league is 0.5 or 1 ppr for RB.

He's a popular dump off target on 3rd downs now and without Richardson I think he would be on the field more.

I doubt he'd more than a RB3 ranked RB in any scoring system regardless of the match up this year but might be a weak flex play should Richardson go down.

OB is not the backup. He is being used out of the backfield right now, but if TRicjh goes down, his touches won't change. In the preseason, it looked like they wanted Hardesty to be that guy, but Jackson produced better. If, God forbid, they needed a replacement, my best guess is they'd go RBBC with Jackson getting a small majority of the touches.

The correct answer has been stated multiple times in this thread. The answer is nobody. I understand that isn't the question you asked however it is the answer to your question whether you like it or not. The reason being that this is pretty clearly a RBBC of 2-3 guys when T Rich goes down, you couldn't expect any of them to get more than 5-10 carries a game and they would just ride the hot hand to oblivion. Trying to predict who would be the best guy week to week is useless. Your answer literally is nobody.

Richardson is not a handcuff candidate. If he goes down, you are mired in a 3 back committee from hell.

However, if you MUST roster one of them in your mind, I'd take Chris Ogbonnaya purely based upon the hit he put on Ray Lewis in the fourth quarter of Thursday nights game. Knocked Lewis right on his a#& while picking up the blitz. Very nice.

:goodposting: Silent G would probably be the guy to own in PPR since he's the passing downs RB and the Browns will certainly be playing from behind with no T Rich though. Hardesty vs. Jackson is hazy, it should be Jackson but he's been a healthy sratch since Silent G got healthy in favor of Hardesty - who hasn't played. Despite being a God awful RB I'm afraid Hardesty gets the nod before Jackson - although I expect that to change quicklyt.
