This should be a close race. All the candidates have warts in their own way.

If I had to take one right now it would likely be Brees with Romo in second.

Your Dallas residency is showing way too much. If Romo finishes this year as he has begun it, then I'll agree with you, but they need to play in more than a half-dozen games before I'll seriously start talking about someone as an MVP. I would put Colston in second and Gore in 3rd at this point.

Um - there's one team in the NFC who is 9-2, and everyone else is 7-4 or worse, and nobody from that team is in the poll?

That is extremely flawed. I would vote Urlacher.

After that I'd go with Brees I guess. If Romo continues to play like he is, and the Cowboys wind up the #1 or #2 seed, he'll be in the mix. Right now he just hasn't played enough games to be the MVP.

this should be brees all the way. too early to say romo. besides brees has been playing more or less as good for the entire season.

MVP award by conference is given for offense and defense not overall.

Also a WR not named Rice has NEVER won a NFC conference MVP. The rest have been all RB/QB the whole way.

It's Brees with Romo close behind. Gore comes in third...though I'd put him in first if San Fran had a better chance at the playoffs.
