Who is the no. 1 receiver in Miami (1 Viewer)

I think he and Wilford will put up similar numbers - 600-750 yards 4-6 TDs. I look at them as 5 and 5a.

Yes Ginn is the #1. I guess we'll see this year if he is legit. Ginn was supposed to be a "raw" WR coming out of OSU. It was thought that he would need more time than most to evolve into a legit NFL WR. I'd say this is a good sign if Mia is comfortable enough placing him in that role already. Even if Mia is one of the worst teams in the NFL.

With Taylor gone, downgrade the Miami defense...a bunch. Now if they are going to be blown out on a routine basis, and that might happen a lot, then you have to think they might just open it up on offense. I like McCown and hope they allow him to throw it most of th eyear and let the rookie learn form the sidelines for the 1st year.

Now McCown if you check his gamelogs, you will see he has had some big games over the years on losing teams...he's on a loser so there is a chance he posts decent numbers. I could see Ginn having a decent year more and more...60-800-6 TD is certainly in the realm of possibilities, and I think I could actually post 70-1,000-8 if Ginn were to really progress.

Now I said all that but the truth is I don't like Ginn much at all, feel Cam blew the pick in his 1 and only year, and basically Ginn will be a nobody and maybe even out of the league in 3-4 years. That may be a bit extreme.

wow, that's a pretty wide gulf between projections there, from a 1,000-yard season to out of the league in 3 years.

Link? Just wondering if this has actually been confirmed.

Even if Ginn is #1 WR do you really want him?? He plays for a run oriented team and when they are going to pass most of the time they will be from behind and defense will see it coming.

I cant believe Ginn has developed into that much better of a route runner in one season. He might be great at deep rountes but how much time will his QB have to get him the ball if that guy even has the arm to do so. He is a #1 by default on a poor passing team.

I think he has some upside. The fact that Miami did NOT go out any big name receivers tells me they are pretty comfortable with Ginn's development. Over the last half of the season, he put up respectable numbers for a rookie, especially when you consider who was throwing the ball.

Unlike at RB, a poor team doesn't necessarily mean poor numbers for a #1 receiver. Neither does being a rushing team, if they concentrate their passes toward a couple of guys (as opposed to spreading it out). Honestly, any #1 receiver has a chance to produce.

Unfortunately, he DOES need someone to throw to him, and who knows who that's going to be at this point, or how they will perform.

I would say Ginn, as his YAC should help boost him compared to the Hagan or Wilford. I'm interested in seeing if Hagan puts it together finally, as he could be a surprise. I just can't get excited about Wilford and think he will ride off into the sunset with the next year or two when he doesn't adjust to his new team. Just an opinion or gut feeling though...

Ginn is probably the only WR drafted in the Top-10 in NFL history where people are surprised he has the ability to be a #1 WR.

Agreed.....you have to earn the NO.1 spot. I honestly don't know who's the NO.1 WR in Miami, but I don't like Ginn that much. Ginn should hope opposing defenses don't hope he's the No.1 WR and put their best defenders on him.I think Ronnie Brown or whoever the starting RB for that given week will be in for some receptions and I think the Miami TE's will be in for more receptions than they'd normally get.

Don't forget, Zach Thomas is also gone from last year's Miami's defense.

Will he be returning kicks/punts?
yesIn my return yardage league, I had Ginn in my top 10 this year and landed him in our auction at WR2250/600/6 & 1600+ return yards (with at least 1 return TD) = :blackdot:

I saw 3 or 4 Dolphins games in the 2nd half last year and Ginn looked like the future to me. I've seen most of Wilford's games as a pro and while I miss having him as a Jaguar I think he has a much lower ceiling than Ginn.

Agreed, when he was drafted i didnt think he was going to be anything more than a PR/KR/slot WR. He really impressed me as a WR, especially his route running, which i thought was going to be his biggest issue.

See: Warrick, Peter
Williamson, Troy
At this point, you're right. But during his 1st year and even into his 2nd, many thought he could catch on and be good. 3 years into his career, most are writing him off.Might as well list Mike Williams and Travis Taylor. But still, after just one year, Ginn has to be the least respected WR ever.
