I didn't see the game, what makes you say that? His stats weren't tremendous, was he targetted more? Looked to first?Thought it was Brown. After watching the game Im thinking its Curtis.
They were tagreted the same but McNabb targeted Curtis on alot of deep passes while Brown didnt get any solid targets. Curtis reminded me of the way they used Stallworth last year.I didn't see the game, what makes you say that? His stats weren't tremendous, was he targetted more? Looked to first?Thought it was Brown. I drafted Brown as my #1Interesting - would you use either as a #2 or #3?
Cool. That's what I was hoping for. I thought Curtis had a nice preseason and heard good camp reviews. It'll be interesting to see what happens there over the next few weeks. They were tagreted the same but McNabb targeted Curtis on alot of deep passes while Brown didnt get any solid targets. I'm sure you have a backfield of LT and LJ if you have Brown as your #1 WR! So it sounds like one is no better than the other right now?I drafted Brown as my #1Interesting - would you use either as a #2 or #3?![]()
Led my team in points this week. Took RB, RB, TE in the 1st 3 rounds. Was still expecting a solid WR to fall in the 4th but 18 went in the 3rd and 4th roundsI'm sure you have a backfield of LT and LJ if you have Brown as your #1 WR! Me too. Im not ready to give up yet cuz he had some dud games last year that just so happened to not be in week 1 (actually in week 1 last year he only had 2 catches but one happened to be a TD). But you damn sure Im trying to upgrade at WR so I can bump Brown down to #3.i hope reggie turns it around.....i was projecting easily 1k and around 8 TDs....this might backfire.
They go 3 WRs or more on about (just an educated guess) 50% of their plays. Avant is the slot WR - he'll have his days. I doubt he ever puts up 100+, but he will see a few targets every game and his hands and strength are excellent.Anybody know how many 3 WR sets the Eagles play.. It seems like Avant may be a possiblesleeper pick up if they play quite a few..any insights from Philly homers on this or the prospects of Avant this year.. I've never heard ofhim but did catch quite a bit of the Philly/Green Bay game & he looked okay..
Fellas, listen you need to give this some time. McNabb looked shakey on Sunday, and the Philly team was not good. I think when they are clicking, that Brown could be very good! He has ability, and hopefully they look to him more when the offense is clicking. YOu can pass on the Skins, so it will interesting to see what he does in primetime. I am starting Brown and hoping for the best this week.i hope reggie turns it around.....i was projecting easily 1k and around 8 TDs....this might backfire.
I'm keeping an eye on him. He was the #3 against the weakest corner and LJ Smith was gimp. If he continues to get targets he may be worth a look but I'm waiting.Anybody know how many 3 WR sets the Eagles play.. 3WR sets aren't a huge part of the Eagles O. I like Avant but he won't start over Brown or Curtis and our 3rd WR won't make enough of an impact to warrent fantasy consideration. As to the OP's question, I see a pretty even split here. Unless there's a TO caliber WR on the field, McNabb will spread it around. Reggie will be the better red zone option but Curtis might get more big plays.Anybody know how many 3 WR sets the Eagles play.. nice call . . . in 2006 it was 51% (8th in the NFL) . . .They go 3 WRs or more on about (just an educated guess) 50% of their plays. Avant is the slot WR - he'll have his days. i agree with this and believe that brown is the better wr of the two to have. for the most part, curtis will be the one running the routes to try to stretch the defense while brown will run the short to intermediate routes. if you want consistancy, brown is the guy. if you want to gamble and look for that homerun game, maybe curtis is the better play. but i think that both will finish as solid #3 wrs with brown being a little more consistant on a week to week basis. forget about week 1.Curtis will probably be the beneficiary of the bombs, while Brown will have more catches, and hopefully red zone looks.
Curious where you go that stat. This year could be different if LJ is hurt.nice call . . . in 2006 it was 51% (8th in the NFL) . . .They go 3 WRs or more on about (just an educated guess) 50% of their plays. If McNabb gets his touch back on the deep ball (which I think he will) Kevin is the one you want. Curtis was open repeatedly going deep. The long bomb McNabb did hook up with Curtis was almost a TD. Curtis went out at the one or the two yard line.avant

Vs. Green Bay they went 3 and 4 WRs when the Pack lost Al Harris for a while.
Philly plays matchups. Whomever gets open is the #1 target. Last season, McNabb had 5 different leading receivers the first 5 games, including one Greg JonesLewis.
I didn't see the game, but you have to take into account how many of those balls thrown were catchable. In summary Avant obviously made the most of his looks catching 75%, Curtis 40%, and Brown 17% (Westy was 50%). Avant had the sole TD obviously as the only highlight to the Philly WR's. Curtis caught two long balls. McNabb tried to get Brown involved in the 4th but it was too little too late.Perhaps the GB D is that good, or perhaps it's still too early to see if any of these WR's will pan out?
Sure hope you have Gates, Manning/Palmer/Brees, and a few real good RBsI drafted Brown as my #1Interesting - would you use either as a #2 or #3?![]()
what can you tell me about Jason Avant? worth a dynasty spot?delusional said:avant
I agree, but the lack of looks in general is what's so depressing for the WR's. When a team throws 6 passes to it's #1 WR and he only catches 1/6 that's just sad. Westy really hurts his WR's with all those looks form a fantasy perspective.I didn't see the game, but you have to take into account how many of those balls thrown were catchable. In summary Avant obviously made the most of his looks catching 75%, Curtis 40%, and Brown 17% (Westy was 50%). In most leagues, yes.what can you tell me about Jason Avant? worth a dynasty spot?delusional said:avant
This was my reaction when I saw the thread title.Westbrook.you beat me to it.
and i curtis b/c of his superior receiving skills (i.e. hands)They were actually targeted the same amount of times; however, I do believe Brown is the better player to own because of his familiarity with mcnabb and Eagles. Brown is a good WR2 and Curtis a Wr3.
Donovan McNabb has yet to establish much of anything with his WR1 and WR2. After two weeks, Reggie Brown has just three catches for 41 yards on 14 looks (21 percent catch rate) while Kevin Curtis has six catches for 81 yards on 15 looks (40 percent), and neither has scored a TD. Meanwhile, WR3 Jason Avant has eight catches for 109 and a score on nine looks (89 percent).
