Who to buy low? (1 Viewer)

Who are the buy low candidates at this point in the season?

I've been offered Lamont Jordan for Antonio Bryant, and I'm still hesitant to pull the trigger. Any buy low candidates that will perform better as the year goes on?

Agreed.I'd add Jake Plummer, Edge, Tony G., Caddy and Matt Hasselbeck.
Agree except for maybe Hass. Don't think people (with a clue) are panicking just yet.

jordan for rhodes, foster or dillon might be a fair deal.

if the players on teams in your league are fine it would work out (you've got one of these three, guy with jordan has addai, williams or maroney).

I think the value of jordan vs. the other three might cross up vs down somewhere around week 6.

Larry Johnson.

He's looked extremely good so far, but hasn't reached the end zone, so the unaware owner might trade him for less than he's worth.

I was just looking this over in my league and I think 2 great but low candidates is K.Jones & A.Green.

Using Clayton's SOS they have some nice schedules ahead of them and could probably be acquired real low.

I'd take a long, hard look at Lee Evans. He's a good player and I think it's only a matter of time before he gets back on track. He may not have the breakout campaign that we expected, but it has to get better.

Randy Moss can't get any worse. He may not get much better, but he can't get any worse.

Torry Holt is a good investment if you can find a sucker willing to sell low.

Cadillac Williams would be another obvious choice, but you really have to wonder if he isn't this year's Kevin Jones/Willis McGahee. The guy definitely has talent, but Tampa looks atrocious.

I'm not wild about Droughns and Jordan. I didn't like them much going into the season and I don't like them right now. They're overrated from a talent standpoint and their teams are awful.

I think Troy Williamson may be a good buy low as I think, given how he is getting exponentially better every game, he could explode and become a top 10-15 WR at the end of the season.

Another good buy low is Chris Chambers as he keep getting lots of targets.

As a Jordan owner I would never do that in a million years. I think he still has value as a solid RB2 this year especially in in the right matchups.

Gates

They won't be playing Tenn and Oak every week, and Gates still scored a td last week and dropped 2 td passes today. Rivers looks great. Gates numbers will come.

Great Great post. Not only that but these 2 "bad" games were still not bad for a TE.

Kevin Jones - He's faced 2 of the top rush Ds in the league 1st 2 weeks. He can only get better from here IMO.

Culpepper - Can't be any worse than he has been... I think.

C. Taylor - Now I know he's had 2 fairly productive games, but I'm telling you now his value is as low as it's going to be. His upcoming schedule after week 3 is so cake. Grab him now if you can in a trade. Think playoffs now. His playoff schedule is sweet.

P. Rivers - Only getting better. Marty has the reins tight now, but he'll only get better from here.

B. Edwards - yes he had a rather large yardage count this week, but my feeling is he'll improve vastly from here and become an every week play soon.

J. Kitna - basically same as KJ. Tough Ds so far. Should improve soon.

R. Williams - see JK and KJ.

TJ Housh - People are forgetting about him due to injury and when he returns it should be good. If C. Henry and K. Washington can get it done in that O surely TJ can.

Just a few that came to mind.

Thomas Jones -- hasn't lit it up at all, but seems to ben entrenched as the starter at the moment. Benson only comes in for garbage time. Seems like it's just a matter of time before Jones puts together a string of strong performances. If you think he can hold off Cedric, he may be able to be had for very cheap...

I'm not sure this is the direction I'd be looking. I'm a huge Evans fan, but I think its going to be a long hard year for him learning what its like to be a WR1.From what I've gathered, the double teams have been constant and I don't think they'll be going away anytime soon.

Yea, but he's averaging about 20 yards per game. That will go up.

i think one of the bear rbs will emerge when the fall/winter come. one will be a steal and carry teams to their fantasy playoffs

Green will put up better #'s than Jones. KJ will dissapoint all season.
KJ is doing just fine in a PPR league. Nothing stellar but he's doing well. Particularly in the first year of a new O. Give him time. In a non PPR league, I would probably dump him if I could get anything for him....

Lamont and Randy Moss - you can probably get them on the cheap. With a bye week to tinker and an easier schedule on the horizon - look for both to bounce back to much better numbers

Reggie Bush - owners in non ppr leagues may be getting frustrated - see him going off in a few weeks

Steve smith - each week that goes by is a chanve his frutrated owner sumps him.

BTW - I have all 4 of these guys and am sitting at 0-2 - however, I think their value is so low I'd rather ride out the storm than give them away for the crap they could get at this point!

All time turn around or down with the ship!

I targetted Lee Evans in every league I'm in, even traded for him in a dynasty league. I really thought he had a shot of being a top 10 wideout this season. Needless to say my enthusiasm is somewhat tempered. Not gonna trade him cause there's no value to be had, but he may see the bench until the offense starts to produce consistently...
