Who To Pick Up (1 Viewer)

19 team, mixed 5x5. I accidentally won Dontrelle Willis at auction and the only way I could get his WHIP killer out of my lineup was with an injury. No trades and no free agency allowed except for IR moves.

He is my only WEAK pitcher - potential to kill me at WHIP. I have 4 starters and 3 RPs, so I can't afford to wait for him to get better.

Do I pick up -

Mussina, Kennedy, or Lohse?

Do I take a flyer on Pedro and eat 6 weeks of non-production?

The only other options out their are - Wandy Rodriguez, Nick Blackburn, Kevin Millwood, and Edinson Volquez. The rest is pretty much garbage in a league where you can't make trades or add/drops (except for injury).

Ideas?

I am leaning towards Kennedy or Lohse (I am a Cardinal fan). Lots of hype on Wandy and Edinson - just don't know enough about them.

Yes. DL or optioned (or retired or dead - this happend to me with Darryl Kile and the rule was not in place at the time so I was not allowed to replace Kile).Other than that the only moves allowed are 1 after May 15 and one after June 15. When rosters are expanded to 40 in September it really sucks because guys are never put on the DL so if you don't save your may or June waiver you get stuck with dead weight down the stretch.

Volquez will be very inconsistent, prone to giving up the long ball and pitches in one of the most HR friendly park in the majors.Wandy pitches well at home but you don't start him on the road. Ever.Blackburn may be headed back to the minors when Slowey heals, but if he pitches well he may stay up...so worst case he pitches poorly, gets optioned, and you replace him.I wouldn't consider any of Moose, Lohse (who also had a hot April last year and then fell off), Kennedy, or Millwood.I'd probably go with Blackburn.

i'd be fine with wandy (if you're allowed to bench him on the road) or volquez, leaning toward volquez for the upside.

Thanks guys. Went with Volquez, mainly because everyone in the lineup plays. No reserves - so no benching Wandy on the road. Good news is I got Liriano back tomorrow. Already off to a slow start due to injury and lack of performance. At least Webb and Weaver have been decent.

Nope - he was until a few days ago. I am not sure I trust him anyway. Like I am a judge of trusting someone when I drafted Willis.
