Who was (or is) your favorite player to watch? (1 Viewer)

Raider Nation

Devil's Advocate
Nothing to do with players on your fantasy team. Just a guy you got pure enjoyment out of watching play baseball.

Let's go ahead and select one pitcher and one position player.

Pitcher - Nolan Ryan

Watching the Ryan Express blow away batters was simply awe-inspiring.

Position player - Rickey Henderson

Rickey made me choose Rickey. ;)

This is as much for enjoying watching him run the bases as it is for watching him hit and field.

Growing up it was Eric Davis. Wish he could have stayed healthy. His combo of speed, power, and defense was outstanding when he came up with the Reds. Always went to Atlanta(6 hour drive) when Cincinnati was in town.

Barry Lamar Bonds

Jack Morris Justin Verlander

Suck it Morris for your anti-Tigers :bs:

Loved the menacing way he rocked the bat back and forth while awaiting the pitch. Somewhat similar to Gary Sheffield, but a little slower.

Kirk Gibson - He was always my favorite player growing up. He played with reckless abandon - like a football player playing baseball.

Greg Maddux - He was a surgeon. It was a beautiful thing to watch.

Eric Davis is a great choice. His defense was amazing, and enough on it's own to get some votes. Then you throw in his hitting and baserunning too...guy was awesome.

Chalk me up for Nolan Ryan and Jose Cruz. The Astrodome wasn't big on offense, but just yelling Cruuuuuz anytime he did something was a lot of fun.

Current faves are Verlander and Elvis Andrus. Andrus makes at least 6 plays a week where you just go WOW.

If there's one guy I could go back in history to watch, it'd be Roberto Clemente.
