Who will finish the year as the number 1 back?

LT is probably a safe pick to finish top 5, and possibly your best bet for the first pick, but who do you think will finish number 1?

remember, the question isn't who you would draft number 1, but who you think will finish first overall

I can't believe anyone voted for Barber. Man, the kool aid on this board is really really spiked when it comes to Barber. :wall:

 I mean I agree with some of the kool-aid drinkers that Barber will do well this season, carrying the bulk of the load for Dallas, but at max, he should come in around 250-260 carries this season...you're not finishing #1 with only 250-260 carries..

I went with LJ, only because of his track record and his head coach. Herm Edwards can say all he wants about lessening LJ's role, but if healthy, he's a LOCK for 325+ carries ( likely closer to 375-380)...Edwards ran an old C. Martin into the ground here in NY, averaging 302 carries/yr, and that includes a 261 carry season and a 220 carry season ( injured)..the year he won the rushing title, he ran the ball 371 times for 1697 yards ( 4.6 per) ..If LJ can improve on last year's dreadful 3.5 ypc average, up to say 4.5 his career avg, and carries the ball some 345 times , that totals 1552 yards rushing , probably good enough for a first place finish....add to that the very real potential of him scoring double-digit TD's...I know the line is weak, but this team is not as bad as Miami was last season, and Ronnie Brown was on a tear until he blew his knee out..so good performances can come from bad teams, despite all the rhetoric to the contrary..

Are you not the least bit concerned by the KC OL, QB, and other offensive threats behind Tony G and Bowe? The team ypc was only 3.3 last year with only 6 rushing TD.

Jamal Lewis
Interesting...what are you projecting for him?
Jamal's kind of a longshot this year given the tough teams the Browns have on their schedule. The answer is Adrian Peterson, league MVP.
No argument on that point from me. I just see a guy on an up and coming offense...one that won't suffer if a QB gets injured or if a WR gets injured...one that has an O-Line that should only get better...one that doesn't have too much at the RB position. And, this seems like the season that the Browns can run the wheels off of Lewis.Edit: And in the words* of Joe Bryant
Joe says*:browns quarterback trent dilfer. he kicked off to start talking about it this way, we had a strange game. both with good reason.

I've got him in the neighborhood of 335/1500/14 40/400/4
In 24 of the last 26 years, the #1 fantasy RB has hit at least 300 fantasy points . . . and your total falls a little short of that. Pretty much since Emmitt Smith broke out, there's been a slew of at least one huge point gainer each year. Only in 93 and 96 did we not see someone hit 300+ points at RB.I happen to think your numbers are on the high side, but I am still higher on Lewis than a lot of other folks around here . . .

Maybe a little bit of a stretch, but he gets goal-line love and has only rookies to steal carries from him. That offense is high-powered and he'll still likely have quite a few catches. He finished 6th last year in PPR, (ending week 16).

Are the Jackson backers concerned about the OL?
No, I think he'll catch about 80 passes to compensate for that.
Is Holt going to get hurt and miss several games again?
Because Holt missed injured several games in 2006?
Because he got hurt in 2006 and Jackson blew up with Holt limping around the field the second half. Jackson became the primary target down the stretch. Before that injury Holt was the #1 WR - and Jacksons numbers then directly benefited from his injury.

I'm going to go with Peterson. I think he'll have some huge games in the first 10 weeks or so and then go down right at playoff time.
