Interesting that leading the pack on an NBC Sports poll are the Atlanta Falcons which curently have as many votes as the #2 Saints and #3 Texans combined. The results are obviously skewed. But what do you all think?

ETA: I know that there are some other deserving teams that I would have liked to add to the poll, but the limit was 15. I think that other will be well represented. No offense anybody.

Last year, in April, I called the Saints (and posted it) after a dream I had.

I had another dream awhile back, and I hate it.

Dallas.

I hate Dallas. :kicksrock:

These results are surprising so far. It just seems that people under estimate the importance of defense. My four contenders would be the Jets and Bengals in the AFC and Cowboys and the Saints in the NFC.

Agreed...though, I subbed in the Ravens for your Bengals. And I think our two teams have a chance to make quite a bit of noise as well.

Hard to believe that 70 votes are in to date, and not a single vote for the defending champs. Everyone is counting on a super bowl hangover I guess.

I went with the Jets - that defense is stellar, their WR stable is deep this season, and adding the veteran leadership of LT is a great move, IMO. Another year of seasoning for Sanchez, and I think the sky is the limit for that team.

I think the Jets easily take the division, and that defense is the equalizer come play off time. If they can get that offense figured out come play off time and they don't have any major injuries, that will be a very tough team to beat. I don't see a Tony Romo beating the Jets, A Brees or a Farve maybe.

Not trying to ressurect this thread, but just one last observation.

It seems that the following six teams are the favorites, and are considered so by a fairly large margin:

1) Cowboys

2) Packers

3) Ravens

4) Vikings

5) Jets

6) Colts

It stands to reason that fantasy wise, you would have to consider drafting players on these teams at or above ADP, in the hopes of getting a part of a potential offensive juggernaut like the 07 Patriots or the 09 Saints. Certainly, this is a good starting point to rank DST's, since you think these teams will be dominant.

You might say, well no #### sherlock. But the WR #3 on one of these teams could be more valuable than a WR#2 or even WR #1 on a lesser team, the RB #2 on one of these teams to be more valuable than another teams RB #1, and so on, and so on.

I don't agree with the Cowboy love. I believe this team out 0 guys on IR last season. Unless they can do that again, I would put them behind the Saints and Vikings for sure, and lump them with the likes of the Falcons, Packers, Giants and Eagles. This does not include the AFC.
