I gave DThomas and received Cam Newton and Marvin Jones

my other wrs: ant brown, aj green diggs and fitzgerald and my former qb was Palmer

I could say both teams if I knew what the other guy's team consisted of.  DT seems to be an improvement over Jones based on recent usage but who knows if Detroit gets back to using him down the stretch or not.  If the other guy has a good fill in for Cam then getting a more consistent DT could be a great deal for him.  For you it's definitely an improvement because you don't need DT so getting Cam over Palmer is an improvement.

Dare I say this could be a win-win.

On the surface, the Cam side won.  But Gally is right, say the Cam owner has Big Ben and really needed WR help.  DT is a nice upgrade over Marvin Jones.

For the OP, he was loaded at WR and Cam is a huge upgrade over Palmer.  He improves easily.

Probably a good deal for both sides.

I hate the idea that trades have to have a winner and a loser. In the best trades, both sides win.

I can't comment on the opponent. But you seem to have improved your team, so good job. Big upgrade at QB, while losing a player at a position you already had great depth.

i agree that both sides benefited and trades should be mutually beneficial...i should have mentioned that the former cam owner has Mariotta

There is no winning or losing in a trade.  It's not about who got the best player in the deal, or which combination of players accumulates the most points.  It's about helping your team.  This trade makes you better, so good job!
