Hitler did do a lot of “good” things for Germany. He was also a great orator. And he is fascinating to study.

But I don’t think I’d have myself quoted in the yearbook as saying Hitler is my favorite person in history.

Whitesville Central School District — where 98.9% of the student body is white — has recalled yearbooks in which a social studies teacher appears to praise Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler as his favorite person in history.

Following the pattern of Iceland-is-nice-and-green and Greenland-is-full-of-ice, I just assumed that Whitesville would be home to mostly African Americans.  Now I don't know what to believe any more.

I don't see why the racial diversity of the school or the name of the town makes a difference in the story.
