Who's rolling out Ryan Mathews today in the semi's? (1 Viewer)

I haven't started this guy in weeks! But, today.......he's in my lineup over Ridley and Jimmy Graham (flex).

If Mathews is indeed an "every down back"............nice potential here.

Potential is Matthews middle name.

I have no idea what to do. I feel like a masochist for even wanting to start him. Trying to decide between Mathews and Wilson in one league. I just don't know who I trust more - Coughlin or Turner. This is going to gnaw at me all day.

same here - was going to roll with Reggiwe Bush vs JaxD but he could easily lose carries to DT....leaning Matthews and have a feeling it will be a boom or bust day - nothing in between - will make final decision after a beer or 2! LOL - interested in seeing who has the stones to go with him!

Definitely wouldn't start him over Ridley, regardless of matchup. Anyways..I'm starting him alongside AP and Spiller.

I'm serious, the guy has been awful. The stats don't lie. And yet every week I say to myself, "Golly gee, I'd love to start Ryan Mathews this week. He's due to go off." It drives me insane.

I`m a fellow Mathews sufferer. I benched Doug Martin for him because of the matchup the week Martin went bonkers. I learned my lesson...never again, no freaking way.

Heh, I benched Charles for Mathews the week Charles went bonkers. I feel your pain. I'm trying not to get squirrely this week just because it is the playoffs, but when your options are Mathews, Ballard, Dwyer, and Wilson (at RB2), it's a :tfp:

Yeah I've got the same Ridley/Mathews decision to make. I trust Ridley more but I just can't ignore the touches Mathews should get this week against an awful run D.

Stars seem to be aligned for Mathews today...

...which means he fumbles on his first carry, is benched, and Battle goes off for 120, 2 TDs.

The ultimate punch to the gut.

I went with M. Owens over RM last week and it paid off. I'm switching back to RM today, but who knows with this num-nut lame duck head coach. I'm almost guaranteed to be irritated at some point during that game.

I think you go David Wilson there...Atlanta ranks 8th worst against the run this season. Maybe it`s my HATRED of Mathews, but ANY other legitimate option seems more reasonable to me than Mathews

Nothing like this ever really works out in my favor, but I would love to get lucky this week if I have the stones to play him and he goes bonkers. It would make it worth the aggravation of rostering him this year.

Thanks - the Dodds sheets have Wilson higher but not my much. Are you starting Mathews?

No freakin way...it`s Ray Rice (despite the hip) and Doug Martin...I think you have to have BIG stones to take a chance on Mathews in the semi-finals of the playoffs

Yeah, that's a no brainer. I think I need to walk away from the computer. I'm getting analysis paralysis. Sticking toothpicks in my eye seems more productive at this point.

Also in the Ridley/Mathews for my RB2 slot (Martin RB1), but am going Ridley. I can't trust Norv.

PPR league too, but Mathews/Norv has screwed me over too many times. Hoping Ridley gets a short TD and I'll be happy.

Here is what another site had to say about Wilson:Apparently, it takes a l-o-n-g time to get out of Commandant Coughlin’s doghouse. Wilson, the freakishly talented rookie from Virginia Tech who excited Giants fans in the preseason, fumbled his second professional carry way back in Week 1 and rarely saw the field after that, let alone the football. In fact, he never tallied more than 10 touches from scrimmage in a game until last week. Last week was Week 14, by the way. What Wilson did with those double-digit touches (100 rushing yards and two scores) has everyone buzzing again and now, at long last, he’s in position to earn his redemption. Ahmad Bradshaw is highly questionable for the Week 15 showdown with the Falcons and Wilson stands to inherit most of his work should the Giants’ main man sit this one out. That could be special for Wilson’s owners because Atlanta is good at lots of things…but slowing down opposing ball carriers isn’t one of them (4.9 yards/carry yielded, 31st in the league).Despite this, I know that Mathews looks enticing...GL

any word on if Battle still has short yds and GL carries? Without GL carries it limits Matthews even if he gets a ton of carries.....

Now I'm rethinking starting Mathews. Looked back at his stats and it made me remember how bad he's done all year. Only 1 game this year he has scored double digit points. I think I'm plugging Ridley in over him.

I guess I'm going with Ridley and Wilson over Mathews this week although it looks like the best situation Mathews has been in all year.

Last week I benched Mathews for a Torry Smith and it cost me. He's not a good fantasy option as a #1 or 2 but as a RB3 or flex, he's been good, consistent 6-8 points a week. Still...I just don't trust him. IMO he looks even worse as a 'real' football player as oppossed to a fantasy player; he plays soft.

I am highly considering starting him as a flex over Dez Bryant. I think for me, it may come down to whether I need a high floor (Mathews) or high ceiling (Dez).

I would be very hesitant to start Mathews as a RB1 or RB2 but IF Brown is indeed out, the match-up is just GREAT. As others have posted, this game could very well be a small token of gratitude/relief for Mathews owners for dealing with his disappointing season.

Shark move is to start Jackie Battle.....

ETA: Can't believe I started him over Cobb at my flex.

Well... I decided to roll with David Wilson over Ryan Matthews in a PPR league. It has been driving me nutz for the past two hours, but I won't let Matthews deep six my season. Hopefully, he doesn't go off. 75 rush and 2-3 catches for 20 yards no TD... Im fine with.... just no more. Good luck to those of you who had the stones to run with him. Kudos.

Not looking good so far IF you went with Mathews...Chargers down 21-0 early...Rivers will be slinging it all over the field...not that it matters much because some studs posted garbage numbers after their teams fell behind early

:bag: ....but will move on to finals thankfully.

Don't care if he's last Rb standing next week...firmly on bench or outright drop next sun morn.

Who am I kidding?

:lmao:Well, I for one didn't have to endure such horror this week. You see way back in week 5, I foresaw the Ridley vs. SF dilemma and traded Ridley away for Mathews.Instead of the playoffs, I enjoyed a nice afternoon of rearranging my basement.

thanks :excited: , count me in the group who held out hope... what's the saying, shame me once shame on you, shame me twice shame on me, shame me 46 times we're both idiots... something like that

Glad I could provide some humor. God knows I need it myself this season
