Who's the guy you're sepnding all your bidding bucks on this w (2 Viewers)

We all know it's best to spend your bidding bucks early to try and grab the undiscovered guy who comes out of nowhere early in the season. So who's your guy? I'm torn between the following.

Legedu Nanee - On a decent offense. Seems to have gotten tons of targets.

Mark Clayton - On a terrible, fluky offense, but he was targetted 16 times... 16 times! Still have a hard time justifying spending bidding bucks on a Ram.

David Garrard - Maybe the year FBG finally stops touting him is the year he goes off? How'd that be for irony?

Temper your expectations with Garrard. He played well at home last year then disappeared several times on the road.

YOU should really edit the TITLE of this thread - there is NO ONE this week who FF players should be spending anywhere near all or most of their FAAB for.May be lots of candidates for Week 2 but none who will be in FF lineups every week for the rest of the year.ETA - maybe Brandon Jackson with Grant now out for the year (see below)

First time using a blind bidding system for me here... need some advice.

We start the year off with $2000 in blind bidding money.

Is there some kind of rule of thumb on how much to bid on players? I don't want to bid too much so early in the year, but then again, I also don't want to underbid to the point that I didn't have a shot at getting them.

I've got a bid for Brandon Jackson set to $128. Is this too much? Not enough? I could really use him, but I don't want to break the bank for him.

TIA

$2000 for the whole season? More details, please. Do you recoup any of the money if you cut a player? What's the minimum bid? Can you buy free agents for $1?My league is $100 for the season and breakout guys typically go for $25 or more. If I had Grant as my #1 RB then I'd be bidding at least $400 for Jackson, but that's just me.

Cecil Lammey just said on the Audible podcast that he could see spending up to 50% of your available money on Jackson this week. :moneybag:

Best advice? Don't post your BLIND BID on a PUBLIC forum.

We've done blind bidding for a few years now, really dont see the point. If the rosters are a decent size, then basically you are going to get max 1 "marquee breakout pickup" a season, so spend 85-90% of your money on who you think that 1 person is.. the rest of the time you will just be filling holes with players probably no one wants or taking a chance on someone who "may" breakout... at most times if you have 2000 to start with, the player you want later in the season can be had for 1$ so it does not matter what you have left.. .spend it early if you think they are a "breakout player" that multiple teams will be bidding on.

With the news that Ryan Grant is out for the year (just reported by Fox Sports), I'd say $128 our of $2000 will be about $1,872 less than the winning bid

1) Going to edit my earlier post because some teams might spend most/all of their money on Brandon Jackson.....BUT that assumes you think he will get most all of the snaps, ie., that the Packers won't sign a free agent like Willie Parker or trade for a player like Marshawn Lynch who would at some point be the main ball carrier in Green Bay

2) For the guy looking for FAAB advice (aside from using Live Advice) the high stakes leagues use $1000 for the season - a player like Jackson IF you think he will be the main guy for the Packers all year would go for $900+

Yes, it's $2000 for the whole season and we do not recoup any of the money if you cut a player. The minimum bid can be $1.

I am pretty sure that you are correct. So what if your starting RBs were just okay (say, you had Benson, Moreno, Barber, and Fred Jackson  )... would you blow the whole thing on Brandon Jackson in week 1?
