Who's your car insurance provider? (1 Viewer)

Oldest turned 16 today, and wowza did that raise the rate.  Made me think to ask.

We use USAA, and I have one speeding ticket in last 3 years, so it's elevated some already.

3 vehicles, 2015 Yukon Denali, 2007 MB S550, and a 2017 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.  $2500/year for all 3, with 3 drivers including the 16 yr old.    Very satisfied with USAA....still seems like a ton of money, but I believe in good coverage.

edit to add: does every insurance provider make it as easy as USAA now?  I was with American Family for almost 15 years prior to this, and USAA claims, payment, changes, everything SOOOO much easier with their website.

the pisser is that one ticket I have is the ONLY ticket I've had in 20 years.   But it came in the month I was changing insurance, and it popped up.  ####

I had grange for awhile but have been with citizens for a few years now.  Friend of a friend is an agent and has been pretty good to deal with.  Haven't made any claims with them yet so can't speak to that part of it.  grange was always really good to deal with on both auto and home claims, but unfortunately rates went up because of that

We also have USAA and my oldest is almost 15. Our cars are a notch crappier than yours, so our rates would be a bit lower when the time comes.

Erie here and I love them.  I have four vehicles, 2013 Infinity, 2005 bmw, 2005 Forerunner, and 2004 Nissan Quest.

I pay $4,200 per year.  Have a 22 year old son and 18 year old daughter as primary drivers.  Their car insurance combined is $2,900.

Live in a suburb of Baltimore.

more importantly ...

how do you pronounce 'insurance'?

was a bit down South last week (Carolinas), and heard a couple folks say: "IN-shrints"

while i countered with my usual: "in- shaw-rintz"

:coffee:

I am from North Cackilacky, and pronounce it in-sure-ance. There are several different accents in this state, and I hear things pronounced in all sorts of ways.

Wish I could get USAA.  Keep begging my dad and or mom to enroll (both of their dad's were military) but they are happy with what the have I guess....damnit.

I use AAA.

Also have Erie. Have never had any problems with them and cost is good as well.

GEICO.  Just switched over and I'm saving about 1400 per year from my last carrier.  Two cars. One 2017 toyota RAV4 lease and a 2000 volvo.

Liberty Mutual. 5 cars, only 2 with full coverage. 4 adult drivers. ~$3200/yr. Will be glad when my kids get off our insurance. Both should happen within a year.

We use Central Insurance . Smaller firm from an independent agent. They have good rates and have never had any issues with claims. Have been with them for about 10 years.Several companies pulled out of Texas about 15 years ago when there were a lot of large claims for black mold, primarily in new homes. I have heard a lot of good things about USAA.

Thanks for the reminder.

Sold a car 2 weeks ago and forgot to cancel insurance.

I am with AAA

2 cars and drivers at around 1500 (1 is liability only)

Speaking of kids and maybe this is good for another thread but when will we start seeing the 1st wave of kids that don't care for a car and have grown up on uber.

As a parent would you be comfortable not buying a car for your kids and giving them an uber allowance instead?

If your kid goes college over 100 miles (distance may vary with carrier), without a car, call your agent.  May have some savings.

esurance

Love them, keeps going down. 2 speeding tickets didn't make it go up, yet.  Wish they did motorcycle, hell, home insurance for that matter.

$900/year 2 cars 2 drivers.  And 2 speeding tickets in the last 2 years.

Minimum liability.  That's all I ever do with cars that are paid for.

The worst NBA playoffs of the modern era will do this to you.  Hopefully the finals turn things around.

Can't get away from AmFam soon enough...

USAA was the way I wanted to go - I checked and does not seem I am eligible (father served but it was WWII).

Since that was a bust, I think I will look at State Farm or Flo the Pro.

More of a customer service thing with AmFam, although from what I am reading here regarding their auto rates seems to jive with my annual costs - it looks like something to be concerned about for certain regardless.
