Why are embedded videos impossible to watch on my iPhone? (1 Viewer)

Homer J Simpson

I don't push
Anything on the web, and even a good chunk of videos on YouTube, will play fine for about 20-30 seconds and then just stop. I'll jump around to different parts and sometimes that'll kickstart it, but basically streaming video is impossible to watch even with wifi and a fast connection. I'M MISSING A LOT OF IMPORTANT CAT VIDEOS AND CHEERLEADING TRYOUTS HERE!!!!

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

I can finish in 20-30 seconds even with cat videos so maybe we could trade phones?

Most people think that youtube will buffer you if you fall into certain criteria. There isn't much you can do about it. There are a billion fix videos out there on (ironically) youtube, but none seem to solve the issue. It's on the server end, not the client end imo.

Anyone know why some YouTube videos say "the owner of this video hasn't made this content available on mobile devices?" Why WOULDNT you allow this?

Because youtube has difficulty serving ads to mobile devices, primarily because of the way that Iphones handle them. (flash)

Is it on your home wifi?

I was having YouTube issues at home, where on my phone it actually worked better over 4G than on my relatively fast wifi. I tried switching over to Google Public DNS on my router and it seems to have cleared most of those issues. It sounds like it only helps some people, but worth a shot if you're in a similar situation.
