Why bother posting your own mock draft? (1 Viewer)

Seems everyone posts a mock in the shark pool. Is posting a cut and paste job with one or two changes to the top ten worth while?

It would be interesting if you could see them all side by side. That way, the one or two player difference between several mock drafts would make for a specific point of debate (e.g. why does Team X want to take this player and not that one).

Other than that, if folks have fun doing the mock drafts, I don't really see the harm. I guess it fills the front page, but not that big of a deal, is it?

What about the one or two word differences in the comment in the one or two player differences in the mock? :)

Who cares. I wish there were more mocks on this forum. It's part of the fun. This post makes me want to break out a mock of my own.

Why bother posting your own mock draft?

Because they want to.......................IF you don't want to read it then don't bother...................... but OTOH why clutter the Forum with a stupid question?

Relax, guys...

Scientists know the result of the draft days ahead of time...

He just doesn't like to watch so many people fail in their attempts.

Srsly. Relax guys. Its b/c so many of you(read:us) won't believe a damm thing someone else said. So when AfroRaptorJerk says "I called it. I KNEW the Patriots were gonna trade up to draft Justin Blackmon."

I agree to you to an extent. However, when a nice, well thought out draft does come up, it makes it that much better. I loved reading this draft earlier this morning. Very well thought out and I could easily see the draft falling exactly the way he predicted.

The ones who bother me the most are the homers who always need to jump in and say "*insert team here* would NEVER take a *insert position here* in the first round." Really, how could you possibly know that? How many Eagles fans would have predicted that they would take Lito Shepard and Sheldon Brown with their first two picks when they already had Troy Vincent and Bobby Taylor at CB? What about GB taking Aaron Rodgers when they had Favre? Stuff happens.

OK, you just kind of blew my mind there...wasn't sure if I said something stupid there or not. :) Perhaps I did. All I was *trying* to say is looking at drafts side by side is interesting.

I like the draft contest threads that have happened in past years, even though I do terribly and don't really know what I'm doing :)

I like them and appreciate those who have spent some time on them, especially those who explain why they think a certain player is a good pick for that team.

Also, they are often much more accurate than pundits from ESPN and other mainstream sports outlets.

Mine aren't cut & paste jobs. I work hard, damn it, to provide you the Seinfeld lines, Star Wars quotes, and other caustic commentary that make my mock drafts a singular experience. But you, you ungrateful bastage, you don't appreciate my hard work. So now I'm not doing one this year, just to spite you.

I prefer no mocks. I prefer to have donkey homer fans that aren't even liked by other fans if their favorite team come in here every offseason, spout a bunch of nonsense, jeer every move by any team that isn't their favorite, thankfully disappear when their obnoxious predictions don't come through and their favorite irrelevant team once again is an also-ran, only to reappear every offseason, spouting more BS.

We need more of that every offseason, ImTheScientist, not these silly mocks.

Thank god you're here.
