Personally I'm for a maternity specific deductible being placed on all health insurance plans, of lets say $5k. If you can't afford that, you certainly can't afford the kid. Even that, though, wouldn't slow the rate of unintended, or even intended, pregnancies in the US which result in those huge public costs.

Giving/implanting free IUDs (among other things) to low income, underage girls - sometimes without parental consent or even parental knowledge. Teen birth rates have dropped faster there than they have dropped in other places (teen birth rates are dropping nationwide), one reason I'm on the fence about this.

Well, we tried under Bill Clinton to spend some public health money on safe sex education. That might have had an impact, but we scrapped it under Bush and pushed abstinence instead. I have to admit that I get mildly annoyed that you continually create new threads on the same topic, but without adding any new information. If you want to post an actual study with actual facts (not just quotes and opinions, but actual, honest to goodness data), I say go for it. If you just want to state "we should give illegals amnesty" again, why not bump an old thread or even assume that everyone already knows your opinion? You make the search function worse this way.

He says to the Italian guy, "You're in charge of sweeping."

To the Scotsman he says, "You're in charge of shoveling."

And to the Chinese guy, "You're in charge of supplies."

He then says, "Now, I have to leave for a little while. I expect you men to make a dent in that pile of sand."

So when the foreman returns after being away for a couple of hours the pile of sand is untouched.

He asks the Italian, "Why didn't you sweep any of it?"

The Italian replies, "I no hava no broom. You saida to the Chinesea fella that he a wasa ina charge of supplies, but he hasa disappeared and I no coulda finda him nowhere."
