The answer to your question is that the West doesn't give a ####.  They really don't.  You will get more scorn directed at you for posing this question (usually guised in dismissive humor) than will be elicited in anything even resembling outrage.  We are seeing the worst evil this planet has seen in a thousand years and people are more concerned about being PC and not offending Muslims.

The General Assembly of the United Nations since 1945 has been fairly consistent: ignore all bad acts committed by leftist, third world or eastern countries, and condemn with great fervor all bad acts committed by rightist governments, particularly those with European or white people in charge. But all that being said, the United Nations is overall a positive. We're a better world for having created it and belonging to it. The charity of the UN really does do good and important things.
